This is a difficult question. One cannot give a blanket reply.

Most people don't think of committing suicide while being in good health but I do know of a person that traveled to a country where medically assisted euthanasia is authorized under very strict rules.

The person in question's quality of life was so minimal with no hope to ever get an improvement in health that this kind of "suicide" was the only option left to that person.

I am personally in favor of physician assisted suicide when there is no other available option to cure a terminally ill patient that suffers despite being given the most potent pain killers.

However, donating an organ when cancer has taken over the body is most probably not an option in terms of medical feasibility because of the high risk of infection in the donor's organ.

For your information, since a number of years, I do carry an organ donor pass in my wallet.

@sueshe That's why I like You, You are a different Person, I think if a Person could not do good thing in his life ( but he wanted to do good deeds ) and unfortunately he had to commit Suicide or die then he should donate his blood / Kidney to Poor patients, At least when he will face " Judgement day " in the Court of the God then he will have to say something !

But I See, ALL people who commit Suicide Most of them don't donate any organs before die, they live Selfish, They Die Selfish !

It is true that organ donations are very minimal all over the world. However, a number of countries have taken steps to remedy this lack of willingness. In those countries, each citizen is automatically a donor unless the person becomes active and makes use of the possibility to opt out of this measure.

Also, I am aware that religion beliefs also play a major role mainly in Muslim countries.

I am upset that people want at all cost to receive an organ when they need one yet they refuse to be a donor. I think that as long as you are not a donor, you should not expect to receive one either.

In My Country Road accidents are very frequent and many Poor people die in hospital as they don't get Blood on Time in hospital, We have 1.4 billion people here but hardly 1 % people donate Blood, I will try to donate My Eyes and kidney if I will have to die Soon !

I want to say yes I'd donate my kidney. However I know for a fact that if I were to want to unalive (I know that's not a word) myself, helping other people would be the last thing on my mind. I'm lying, it wouldn't be on my mind at all.

I would never commit suicide in the first place.

As for donating a kidney, I would only do so for someone I truly love. This would have to be someone I care about so much that I would die for them because living with one kidney increases my chances for infection or worse.
