Normally, this would be another in a series of geography questions, for a country that starts with "W". Interestingly, there are no countries that start with "W", as defined by the United Nations. However, there is one important place, a nation, that does start with "W" ... Wales.

So, today, we'll do something different. Ten "facts" about Wales are listed below, except that two of them are false. See if you can determine which are the two "false facts".

Possible Facts about Wales:

1. It's one of the four nations that make up The United Kingdom

2. Welsh is the official language; English is also widely spoken

3. Prince William and his wife Catherine are the Prince and Princess of Wales

4. Cymru is its name in the native language

5. There are about 10 million sheep in Wales

6. The Severn River is the longest river in Wales, and in Great Britain

7. The capital of Wales is Swansea

8. Roald Dahl, author of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", was born in Wales

9. Wales' official animal is a dragon

10. Tom Jones and Sean Connery are notable Welsh people

The correct answer (the two false statements) are 7 and 10.
7. Swansea is not the capital, Cardiff is.
10. Tom Jones is Welsh but Sean Connery is Scottish
All the other statements are true about Wales.

2. Welsh is the official language. Chaos was recently caused by a parking meter that gave instructions in Welsh. Huge queues of struggling tourists formed all too stupid to push the "English " button.

4. Cymru is its name in the native language. Also written gymru and Nghymru thanks to crazy grammar rules. Good luck with your satnav.

5. There are about 10 million sheep. The USA has about 5 million. Sheepshagger comes from the practice of using sheep intestines as condoms.

6. The Severn River is the longest river in Wales. It has the third highest tidal range in the world, surfers ride the bore as it travels up river. Severn is from the Latin name Sabrina, after a girl who got chucked in the river. https://www.severntales.co.uk/sabrina.html

7. Swansea. Nope the seas not full of swans. It's from the viking 'Sweyns-ey' – Sweyn's island. We call it Abertawe (aber = mouth of river)

#10 is false. I believe Sean Connery is British, but not Welsh. Not sure of Tom Jones. I will take a guess to say that #9 is also false.
