Why is "gg" pronounced "jee jee" if it stands for "good game"?

When we "pronounce" acronyms, we sound out the letters individually in the way that they are said when pronounced individually.

Right. That's another rule. If some of the consecutive letters are also a word or a name, we will say the word or name instead of sounding out each individual letter.

Why would it be pronounced any other way? It would be impossible for people to read sentences if the pronunciation of an acronym depended on context which might not be known at the time you get to the acronym.

If I write: "The CIA has made excellent progress." It would be impossible to know for sure how to pronounce CIA. CIA can mean Central Intelligence Agency or Culinary Institute of America. If pronunciation depends on the words represented by the acronym then it could be kul-i-a or cee-i-a. Nobody would ever know which when they're reading. They would only know if they're the person who created the context/entire speech.
