Help How Do I Remove Mold Rust & Cauk In My Bathroom?

so before my shower edges was filled with mold. Now it’s looking clean & fresh. However the cauk is falling apart some months now , is it urgent apply new cauk? It started shedding from the toilet & shower. What does cauk do? I tried add new cauk once but gave up it was too hard. Also how do I remove rust in the toilet, also so I cut off that moldy hand under the shower door? It’ll be too hard to clean am I able to buy a new band so the water doesn’t fall out, it’s a plastic thingy but it’s black lol. I barley have lived here since March and the bathroom gets worse and worse. Is the owners house old? I live in a studio apartment, no window no kitchen, just living room walk in closet and bathroom. Dining area and corner for fridge microwave and pantry. In the last place I used to live at the bathroom was shared but spotless. Never had issues the owner only had a broken sink. Does your bathroom have a window or fan? Built up moisture causes mold. It is not healthy for you to breathe that in.

Bleach and water gets rid of mold. Clr removes rust stains. To
replace the calk the old calk must be removed and the area thoroughly cleaned. I
Use painters blue tape on both sides of the joint. Apply
the calk. Spread it out with a wet finger. Then remove the tape. Let the
calk dry for 24 hours before using the shower.

Rust, try vinegar or Coke.
No idea what cauk is. Caulk, though, should be able to be removes with a very sharp utility knife.

What about that black mold line? It’s supposed to keep water from coming out the door. Can I just cut it off? Buy new one to stick there or i need use a mold spray only?

Oh! Rust IN the toilet? I'm not sure what to do about that, I thought meant like, on metal parts. But, the vinegar MIGHT work. You might have to do some scrubbing.
Caulk is really easy to put on, it comes in a large tube that you load into a caulking gun and then just squeeze it out as you need it. Like toothpaste but a lot thicker. I'm guessing the black band you're talking about is a gasket. That's partly there to keep the porcelain from scraping the floor and partly to keep any possible leaking water from coming out onto the floor.
Question: if it's not your place, why are you futzing around with it? That should be up to the landlord. Report the issues to him/her and let them deal with it.

Cuz one time people on gag advised me to fix issue first on my own then tell landlord if I can’t fix it. I have last owenr before get mad wen I need soemtuhg fixed she was a bitch.

Either way I need buy vinegar at dollar store to put on my suede chairs think little bit got mold. So by tomrow my home shud be mold free finally. I have the celing fan on all day and heater few hours and open my window at least 30 min a day to prevent mold

I never heard about that mold thing, either! The only time we ever left doors or windows open was in the summer or spring! The basement even got flooded a few times the last few years I was there and it never got mold in it! My family was in that house since 1936 and the only mold I ever saw was on food in the fridge that we hung onto a bit too long.

I guess because you have some sort of dampness issue at your place. That's what causes mold. We even had a pool in the back yard and people ran in and out of the basement soaking wet from the pool all the time to use the bathroom in the basement.

You will have to completely remove all the caulk from the tile and recaulk it to get rid of it. You can buy mold resistant caulk. As far as the toilet that is rusted out so you will need to replace that too and that may require another seal.

If you remove the old caulk and don't fill in back in the tiles will begin to turn loose and fall off not to mention a leak in the wall being a likely potential. And that looks like the slide rail under the shower door has been caulked and or painted and it's pealing off. That should come out too if there is mold growing in it. That could require resetting the door if it has to be reset resealed. It sounds like you are renting the place. Whoever you rent from they should be taking care of that.

Oh by the way, that between the tiles is grout not caulk.

Where is the groat? So the black line is mild right? Can I cut that off or just apply mold spray to take it off? I only need put cauk inside the shower. I rent yes but I will put the cauk myslef even tho it’s hard and messy I don’t want bother the owner

I can't tell without being able to see it that good. If I were you I would remove everything on the surface that you can see paint caulk both from the surface. Then use a heavy bleach and spray in on there real good. Once it drys reseal the outer edges with caulk. In all likely that should take care of it.

I can't tell if that is a rubber seal or what it is I see. If it's a rubber seal you wouldn't want to remove that. You could remove whatever is on it.

I remeber the bathroom was the first place I saw mold. I didn’t do anything few months. Cuz i didn’t know what that was. I would shower with the mold there LOL. but I showered today as I cleaned the mold and I feel FRESH CLEAN AIR 😱😱😱

Then I noticed the floor one spot have a weird dust but I realized it was mold wen I saw in my closet a storage bin covered in green mold and my shoes in mold

Before all that I felt my closet wet all the clothes wet. I was like wtf. For few months I never opened my sliding window door , I was shut inside & it felt weird wet moisture in the house. No sir no fan.

If it's mold and you know it's mold and it's growing in and on things it sounds like a mold infestation. And should that be the case and if you are renting I would find another place to move to. Mold will eventually ruin your clothes and everything else it can get in that you have and make you sick if you stay in it. You should have your place mold tested.

Mold can cause shortness of breath. The best thing you could do if that's even possible because I know how it is I have had to live in it too. But again assuming it's possible for you to do the best thing you could do is move out of that place if it has a mold infestation. Knowingly renting a mold infested place to someone should be illegal.

This sort of stuff really should be addressed by your landlord. This is why you pay rent. Besides, regrouping a bathroom is beyond what the average person knows how to do.

For caulk use ceramic tile bond. Silicone is not that good. And in case you have epoxy that's even better to apply.
