I once tried Everclear on a dare.

It wasn't a shot, because that would be safe and logical, within reason.

Being a competitive person, and having an over-inflated sense of self control and alcohol tolerance, I decided that I would drink the bottle myself throughout the night, the way a normal alcoholic drinks a beer. I was hedging my bets that my immense size- having a liver the size of a 1978 Peterbulit 3408 air filter and enough blood to feed a vampire or my ex wife for weeks- I would be safe from the most immediate effects of the alcohol.

    I was wrong.

In the days before social media and wifi, folks did dumb things out of pride, not clout. I cannot stress how dumb it was of me to gamble blood poisoning in exchange to be considered a legend among 7 people, but I was young and my pride outweighed my intelligence.

To be fair, I only recall maybe 4 or 5 'swigs' from this deceptively clear paint thinner, and while it tasted like buring hot pain, I think I handled it well enough, being able to converse and drool with the rest of them. But then the effects kicked in, and my memory grows incredibly foggy as the night wore on. What happened after was told to me secondhand and the embarrassment was only slightly beaten by the pride in my friends eyes as they recounted my exploits the day after.

Among many things unmentioned, I was told that I started a fight with a broom and lost, fell up a flight of stairs twice, expressed a deep concern for quicksand (terrified that it would appear in the carpet at any second) and insisted that Asians are indeed really cool people, all things considered. What evidence to propose an alternative was never revealed to me, so I guess I just had a high opinion of Asians for no specific reason while utterly blitzed.

I woke up under the basement stairs with a trail of wet clothes from their washing machine to my nest, and it took hours to sober up enough to drive. I'm proud that I didn't throw up, nor did I expose my chest at any point in time.

Because of that experience, I will never try everclear again.

Dieting by eating 3-4 apples a day. Or any food in micro portions. It's not healthy. I ate 3 apples. Went out with friends, drank only one tequila shot and fainted.
I'm usually good with alcohol, so it was a surprise to everyone.

I love coasters, but This one coaster at Six Flags and this one fair ride... Never again. The Dare Devil was too steep when going up hill in that small ass 4 seater cart. You lean back at a full on 90 degree angle. Horrible. Hated it. The drop was decent. The zipper was awful. It goes around like a ferris wheel while your little cage also spins. But there's nothing to hold you down inside, so my friend and i were being thrown into the cage door like clothes tumbling around in a dryer. He managed to save my glasses. Horrible horrible ride! we were the only ones on it before the fair closed and they wouldn't cut it off when we asked to get out. My hair and our clothes were so wrecked after that you wouldve thought we had sex. It was traumatizing and we were bruised up badly. These were the only two rides to make us scream for our mom. Well aside from the ring of fire where my shoulder belt unlocked and i was hanging upside down forever with my cousins on each side of me holding me in the seat. God really had me that day because nothing other than him and my cousins arms were holding me in. Same happened on the swing ride but it suctions you into the seat so thankfully I couldnt fall off that ride even if i wanted

Your "zipper" was not safe or properly maintained. They are designed to have a seat belt attached to a hinged, bowed bar so that it looks similar to a bow (think "bow & arrow") - with the seat belt as the bow-string. When you sit down, they lower the bar until the belt has you snugly held down into the seat, with the belt across your upper thighs, and the free end of the bar goes into one of several slots to maintain the tightness of the strap. I couldn't find a great pic, but at least you can see the bar in this pic, which has a padded cover on it. You can't see the belt under it, though.

If they didn't have this, that was a HUGE safety violation. Sadly, those aren't uncommon with many traveling carnivals.

It's a fun ride when you aren't being thrown around the cage like a loose pinball.

@MrOracle yea we had a bar thing over our lap but it was not tight, so we easily slid out of it and were tumbling around. Some of the Worst pain ever. And ours seems more roomy inside than the pics and i dont remember having the black soft looking padding bars in front of our face that she has

Yeah, the traveling carnival versions I remember as a kid didn't have that padding either - just bare bars - but the strap was quite tight and kept you safely in place. Either the one you went on was broken, or the ride operator didn't do his job correctly - and neither of those options would be surprising, as there is very little regulation of those rides, since they move on so quickly.

@MrOracle like i always see fair dudes push stuff down and you hear a snap. They laid it over our lap but nothing made a click sound. At first it went slow but then they went to the fastest speed. We were the only ones on the ride since it was the last night of the fair and they were closing. The two men controlling the ride were rude af and wouldn't stop when we asked them too and they were laughing and screamed YOU SAID GO FASTER? They’re lucky im not the type to sue. I've never gotten off a ride shaking like i did with that one. I bruise very easily. A pinch can turn me from red to purple to green to black in less than 5 mins. Imagine how fcked yo we looked afte that ride

I tried eating pulled pork at whole foods and will never try that again, did not like the taste. I tried tobogganing down the stairs one time and will never try that again. I tried dating a guy I did not know very well based on his reputation and will not do that again cause I learned he was a very bad person. I tried befriending a bad person I did not like cause everybody else said he was a good person and it was a mistake, he tried to kidnap me.

I don't know what it's called, but there's something hanging from the ceiling. It looks like a gym equipment, but it's not. You put your head between the pillows and let yourself go, and only your head carries you as your whole body sways. I saw it at a friend's house and he insisted that I try it. It was really scary and weird. I don't understand why it is done. I would never do it again. My friend adores it but it looks really funny.
