little precisions so you can give me stuff that i can actually do: i'm 22, will be in the french countryside in a small village in the mountains near spain and andorra for July at least, dont know for August, am broke as fuck but can get some money from my parents (unless i get a summer job ofcourse), dont have a car/motorcycle and dont have a permit, dont know anyone really in the village except for old people that are friends with my family
There is so much history there. Do an in-depth study on what is going to be around you and find out about the history of the buildings in the villages and the people and the conflicts over the centuries.
The history goes back so far that one little area can be full of stories. Then, when you go and talk to the people, don’t do the touristy stuff, ask the locals about the history, and when they see that you’re interested and generally aware, and that you’re not a typical tourist, they will give you so much more of a rich background, because of their personal connection to the land and the history.
Well, I go to a touristy area and connect with the locals and show my genuine interest. I get so much more history than I bargained for it sounds like an amazing opportunity for you. I hope you have a wonderful time.

So from what I have heardthr French county side is beautiful. If you have old people I town the best thing you can do is spend time with them. If you earn their trust they will teach you guarding, fishing, and a long list of other items that could be a big help along the way. If you walk around you will be surprised at the things you can find to do v
