While dogs and would see animals the size of cats or ferrets like rabbits and squirrels as prey, they are quite unlikely to attack either and can live together quite well. Similarly cats will see a squirrel as prey but they will rarely attack a ferret that they live with. Do you think that this might be because they can see similarities between each other because the 3 of them shared a common ancestor around the same time humans shared a common ancestor with monkeys. When we look at monkeys, we can see similarities between them and us so do you think that dogs, cats and ferrets can see similarities between each other?
Maybe if u teach them not 2 attack they will learn not 2. People can have dogs n cats. I saw a dog n a guinea pig playing.
There was a lady on TV who had rabbits breeding n they were all around the home n she had a cat. Best time 2 teach the predators not 2 attack is when their young.

all these actually rely more on smell than sight...
both dogs and cats won't be as open to other dogs and cats if their scent is not familiar to the ones they're used to be with
Maybe they see their owners interacting with the other animal and sense that it’s a friend.

Maybe, I think animals are smarter than we give them credit for!
