Yes, I spent a lot of time on my grandfather's farm, so to me it's just another crop in the field.
But I get the attraction or "romance " of it.
There I a big tourist trap place by us, pick your own apples a field with pumpkins, hay rides, and it is packed.
What people don't know is that some poor schmuck had to go and cut all of the pumpkins off of the vine, a royal pain in the butt.
A few times they ran out so they would buy more and after they closed they had to go set them out in the field.
Same as with the apples, the trees were picked clean like they were invaded by locusts aka tourists, so the would put boxes of apples by the trees with a sign stating for your convenience we picked the apples off of the top of the trees and put the here.
If you think about it the whole pick your own pumpkin, apples, strawberries is pretty Tom Sawyeresk.
You get someone to pay you to do the work for you.
But again, not everyone had the opportunity to experience that, and the kids love it.
I have a few times. We wandered around but didn't pick our own. We selected from the great number that had already been picked and were on display.
This is a bit off track, but one year my wife and I knew a guy who participated in an annual haunted house. It had a large, sloping front yard with bushes and rocks and winding pathways. They would carve scores (maybe hundreds) of pumpkins very creatively and place they all around the yard and front porch. They each had a small light inside so that the carvings stood out at night.
It was pretty amazing and a lot of fun.
Yep! There's a farm near me that I've picked pumpkins from. Even the farm dog over there hung out with me and helped choose lol

Go every year. There's a farm not far from me and they do the whole hay ride and apple cider thing out to the patch.
With kids and grandkids, we usually visit a pumpkin patch every Fall, just in time for Halloween and carving jack-o-lanterns.
Yes, it’s almost a tradition of ours to visit Bishup’s Pumpkin Farm when October starts to close in (begin).
Yes. They have one at the OC Fair location each October. I will probably go this weekend. My friends' kids love it.
I used to go all the time with my family. My kids are grown now and not living home so we don't go anymore
Yes, they have really nice ones on Sauvie Island in Oregon with hard cider and corn mazes.

Was looking at it last year, but seems an expensive experience
Nope. Driven by them, but have no desire to wander in one.
No. I would like to meet Linus, though.
