I’m not a violent person, I’m a pacifist and I’d never put hands on someone unless I had to defend myself but I’ve began fantasizing about breaking this guys’ legs and beating him to a pulp. No one in the apartment gets any sleep and he’s caused a roach infestation cause he doesn’t clean up after himself and he breaks things around the apartment. I’m typing this at 4am trying to figure out ways to get him to leave but I’m not sure what to do. My other roommate and I sent him a long text a month ago letting him know we’re not resigning the lease with him and that he needs to start looking for other places to live, 3 months before our lease is up. He said he has no plans on staying but seeing his childish behavior first hand I don’t trust him to be prompt about moving out. My landlord isn’t much help either so I’m afraid he might stay. What are some ways to ensure he leaves at the end of the lease?
If you have a roach infestation you may have to get an exterminator in to fumigate the place. Since that’s a health hazard. That will either be charged to the landlord or will be deducted from your deposit. I would take pictures of everything so when resigning comes you can prove how bad things are. If it’s charged to the landlord they may see how bad it is. I would also bring up the problematic tenant with the landlord and explain while you would like to resign that you won’t if the roommate stays and list the reasons why
