Have you ever had the urge to pee in the middle of a cold winter night but held it up till morning?

So, it's freezing cold outside while you're wrapped up in bed under the blanket, you feel the urge to pee in the middle of the night while there's a thunderstorm outside, will you just get up and go to the bathroom or stay in bed trying as hard as you can to keep it up till the morning?

I usually go to the bathroom before I go to bed. But if I have to pee in the middle of the night, I will get up so that way I can go back to sleep easier and enjoy my dreams. Without the signaling and pain of my body needing to go.

In fact, some people would benefit from wearing ureters. You don't have to get up, but you must be careful so that you don't strangle yourself in the tubing when having a nightmare.

not in the middle of the night... but before I sleep and right after I wake up, yes... I just get up and go, no matter how cold

My cat exploits this. He wanders in does the rub ups and just as I am drifting back to sleep the need to pee comes with wakefulness.

He always wins and gets fed.

Depends on if my alarm will go off soon. If it's close to the time I wake up anyhow, I may just wait or go ahead and get up (especially if it's only a few minutes early). Otherwise, I usually go as soon as I feel the urge to. I get up, go to the bathroom, then go back to sleep. I'd rather sleep comfortably then have a pee urge the rest of the night.

I heard that holding in pee increases your chances of developing kidney stones. And I can't imagine pissing one of those out, so I avoid doing that like the plague.

I was told having to pee in the middle of the night is from eating too late at night. Particularly an abundance of carbs.

It had something to do with your kidneys not absorbing/holding onto it while you sleep due to excess carbs at night. Can't remember the science behind it but I have noticed that to be the case for me
