Okay so this happened me 2 times, So since I turned 17 I started taking pics a little provocative of course never crossed the line. I always dreamed of being a model so I always take my photo session and I think I look gorgeous even people told me I look so pinterest. However there's always this problem called haters. They always be like omg you look like a slut, its embarrasing, thats not what real woman dress, and a lot of shitty coments. But they never dared to unfollow me they just keep watching like someone is pullin a freaking gun in their heads.
You asked a question I find interesting! Go you, gold star!
A long, long time ago, in an economical reality far, far away... marketing used to believe that positive response was the key to media.
Social media arrived and our learning and exposure dramatically and explosively increased.
Nowadays while things such as likes is still important what is normally measured is interaction. This is done in different ways such as finding your engagement rate (interactions/followers x 100%). The realization was this: Good content is provocative. It can be educational, inspire people to talk, share, compliment, insult, so on.
Good content does not always create likes. Good content creates interaction.
The lesson included things such as understanding that humans like to engage with their feelings. Positive and negative. This is why we see the same "omg feminism!(or other argumentative topic)" posts on gag every day.
So basically the answer is this: These are good, if not so fun, followers for a content creator. They reliably interact and benefit you. You are fulfilling their need to vent or otherwise engage with something they feel strongly about - whether they oppose or support it.
Now on an unrelated note and advice you did not ask for: Remember that new steps are always exciting but once taken lose their novelty. Showing a little more will generate more interest a few times but then lose out and suddenly what used to work is not as interesting because people have seen more. You find this in most areas. Singers not giving it their all so they can save for one or two great moments in a song. The buildup to a musical climax.
Treat your content the same. Do not be needlessly provocative unless you want to be. You are sharing an idea not a picture.

little mama, don't pay any attention to those haters! They're just jealous they don't look as good as you. Some people always gotta have something negative to say.
It's probably 'cause they actually like looking at your pics, even if they pretend they don't. So they follow you to keep stalking but then post mean comments to make themselves feel better about it. Ain't no one got time for their nonsense!
Keep doing your thing, posing how you like. You're only 17, so have fun with your style and don't let anyone stop your shine. As long as YOU feel confident and sexy, that's all that matters. Screw what they think!
You keep taking those hot pics and doing you. One day those haters will be so sad they can't stalk you no more. But you'll be living your best life, maybe even a model like you want! Just don't give them any more of your energy. You're too fine for that 😜
