Have you ever had to use it, and if you did, what were the results? I would say avoid Car Shield. I have always been skeptical of these companies so never bought one. You would have to have some catastrophic thing happen to your drive train in order to make it worth the cost. But that's just my opinion, and this car repair shops too.
I do have it through Millennium. I've had to use it 4 times. 3rd time was the only time I felt like it wasn't needed. I have a $200 deductible. My first instance, my transmission started to jump between 1st and 2nd, and 2nd and 3rd. On the way to drop it off for this issue, it gave out and my heating and cooling system was shot. Got it fixed, dealer called, told me it was ready for pick up. Next day they called to say that the transmission issue was not fixed. At this point I have not had my vehicle for a week. The after market warranty did cover both of these. When all was said and done, I didn't have for my vehicle for about a month. The total bill was approximately $12,000. I paid $200 for my deductible.
Most recent is when I accelerate, there is a shake right around 20mph. Took it in, broken tire rod. Only paid my deductible again. Of course that wasn't the issue. Taking it in this weekend to get the motor mounts and transmission mounts fixed. You guessed it, I'm only paying my deductible. I'd say it's paid for itself by now.
