Do you meow back to cat 😺?

All the time but I do like, "Meaaaaarrggh!" "Mearooooooooo!" "Moooooo!" "Meeeeeo-woof! Woof-woof!" I can't copy their purring but I go like, "Palalalalalala. Palalalalala. Meaaarrrrrrgh! Palalalalala. Tulululululu. Palalalalala."
Can also do like, purr-lulululo. Purr-lulululo. My cats look at me like, "You're weird!"
It makes perfect sense to my brain. Like, purr-lulululo, purr-lulululo
Pa-lalalalalala. Palalalala. Pa? Palalalalalalala.
Tululululu. Tululululu. Tulululululu.
I gotta try that! Lanannanananana! Mioumioumioumiou! Miamiamiamiamiamiamiamia, miamiamiamiameow, ma-meow, meow-mia.
I actually made a theme song for one of my cats (she's a Japanese cat) using a sample of her own voice for the instrument.

No problem! I think she'd be happy. 🙌 This is her:
We keep her in the house now but this was back when she was a stray.
I also have a battle theme for her. It's part of a little video game I'm working on starring her as a ninja cat.

We have two cats.
One is a sweet, super fluffy, marmalade-orange, 16 lb, part Maine coon named POTUS (Poatie). When he meows he opens his mouth wide and only a short, high-pitched "Mew" like a squeak comes out. When he is hungry, dancing on his tip toes and adamant, he can say "Mew-wew" as he looks up expectantly in desperation.
.
We do have conversations, mewing back and forth. And sometimes I talk to him or put words in his mouth like "What's that boy? ("Mew") There's no food in your dish? ("Mew") Oh no! ("Mew") You say your mommy didn't give you any breakfast or anything?" ("Mew-wew") He's lying.
The other is a 5 lb, chocolate brown and black Burmese named Coco. She barely opens her mouth at all when she meows. She talks to herself for no reason and speaks in sentences. "Ngaaawaweraaara." She reminds me of a mewling infant and has spells where she just keeps it up. It's super funny when she walks and trots at the same time because then it sounds like "Nga a wa wer a a ar."
Sometimes I imitate her and we have conversations back and forth. Call and response. She seems to like it. Other times I'll say things like "What's that, Coco? You say Ngawawerer? And you mean it?"
nah... but there is one Polish word that is similar to meow. In Polish meow is miau. past tense from the verb to have in Polish is miał (if we speak about a man, if about a woman miała, and about kid, animal, whatever miało - it's a reminder... don't learn Polish it's a language from hell, plural is also different for male and female version :D )
so miau and miał are pronounced similarly, so it's popular to use a line from a children's rhyme and ask what did you have, kitten? what in Polish is: coś ty kotku miał?
sorry :D
so no, I don't answer in cat's language I use Polish for conversations with cats :D
@IslaTheWitch Ha! That was a brutal reply.
Last night I turned the backyard light off only to hear a long stream of loud complaints from the direction of the kitchen window. Evidently they had been enjoying the view. I had to apologize and turn the light back on. Then even received a thanks in return. They don't let me get away with anything.
We have long conversations sometimes. The first rescue kitten believes I am simple but loveable I believe. The younger one is sometimes shocked at what I say and will open her mouth and flatten her ears, then run over to me for pets.
I haven’t interacted with any cats for quite some time, so my cat language skills are probably quite rusty. The above cat’s owner is probably excellent compared to me.
When I first saw this question I thought @purplepoppy was behind it. Good to know there’s at least one other person here to share the workload.
I sure as hell do. Sometimes, l even ask her if she wants to go meeeeow-out. When l do, she runs to the front door.
i do that too lol. funniest thing ever is that they tend to meow back and have back and forth meows with you. always kinda wonder what they think i'm saying to them, cos different types of meows mean different thinks
Always, but actually I meow first.
Pretty much I'm the "you can't hug every cat" lady even though I don't own one since I'm too lazy to add the extra responsibility.
I'm the perfect cat-Aunt, however.
yes all time
my cats like it n they purr
Yeah they would talk back to me too lol My one cat would wake me up every morning at 6am by throwing my gasses on the floor because he wanted "fresh" food lol
Yes.
I adopted my cat partly cause he came over and chatted with me when I came to pick a cat.
I do meow back to him. Or just talk to him like he's a human.
It doesn't work.
yes... with all of them
meows and different whistles too... that's how we communicate with one another all the time
Absolutely, sometimes to make fun of their meow sometimes because it just feels like the most appropriate response
Cats no, but if a dog barks I might bark back. I have a decent dog bark.
Umm. I can honestly say I have never meowed back to a cat!
