By far. The amount of older people who say there was less racism, less controversy around gays, better economy, easier to communicate with people, people were more easygoing, nobody knew what anxiety was.

Over the decades the standards of living has dramatically dropped. People can't buy a home, afford college, earn a decent wage, afford medical care. Remember our grandparents did it all on a single wage.

No, life is always better when we look backwards. We have a tendency of forgetting the difficult times especially when we hear stories of old because the storyteller often will glamorize the events.

having lived them yes, they were so much simpler.
People had respect for others and their property, way less social pressure, the music was better, the cars were cooler, life was slower and little things meant a lot.

I see this as nostalgia for someone’s younger years, where they lack a societal understanding or empathy for what others were going through while their white asses were partying.

In some ways yes definitely but there are some advancements that are good such as the safety feature of having a cell phone as long as you're in an area that has service.

there's always good and bad, but life goes on, technology improves, medicine improves, new explorations and discoveries happen.

Life is better today for some and not better for others.

As bad as 2019 was with covid I still think of it as the good old days. Things are much worse now.

People tend to either idealize or catastophize the past, whether their lives or relationships.

Different social and cultural norms. People used to check each other more and being an attention whore was shamed not glorified.
