Black people seemed more unified in the 1970s; black music was authentic and arguably at its peak; and social consciousness and togetherness seemed to be at their height in that era.

1, yes, stevie wonder was the best in his ethnicity in the 70s and nobody has outdone s. w. since then.

2, with the downhill from jazz to r&b, and worse rapping getting filthier... well it was filthy before, but more rappers are filth mouthed for marketing... it is hopeless.

The 80s arguably, had the first generation of black millionaires due to… (duh duh DAH) affirmative action.

As far as music, it seems like blacks always did it first and whites stole it and made it better. The real king of rock is Chuck Berry. He was a piece of shit, but like most genius musicians.

There were no handsome black cowboys in the 70's, so I'd rather live today. (And I'd have wanted to club Marcia Brady, but it likely wouldn't have been allowed.)
