Do you think racism will ever be mainstream again?

Hitler was 80 years ago, segregation in the US only ended 60 years ago, and Appartheid in Africa only ended 30 years ago, which if you think about it, is not that long ago. And I'm noticing that hate crimes and racist comments are becoming more common then they were a decade ago. So do you think in a few decades or maybe even less, racism will be mainstream again. This is already the case in some countries.

I meant Whites or at least light skinned people being racist against "brown people". I know it's becoming mainstream to be anti-White, but I was thinking of the reverse.

So this is tricky question. Hard to answer honestly with people trying to be objective about the history of western civilization. So through out the history of western civilization , all the great empires not only had huge and successful armies they also were masters at the exploitation of labor. Dating as far back as the old testament and way before, slavery was an ingrained part of the our culture and history. Even in the Roman Era they conquered and enslave the conquered people and then over time these people eventually because citizens of the Empire. So they paid forward on their debt to the Empire so that their future generations could prosper and achieve full rights and citizenship.

In the Middle Ages there was the Feudal System in which peasants known as serfs worked the land for the wealthy and scarped out a subsistence living... they were no better than slaves. Their whole lives where dictated by the word of the nobility and their rights where few to none. But over time their future generations gained liberty and greater freedoms and they were grateful.

These white European fought generations of wars and were killed in the 100's of thousands to gain greater freedom and liberties for their future generations. They staved, the labored and toiled in the fields and were born poor and died poor.

Even in American history, these white people fled to the new world to escape social injustice and carve out a new life... and yes they were exploited by the European Powers, and yes in turn they exploited the native peoples and brought slavery to the New World. The geocide of the native peoples was more less unintentional but it happened none the less. White people did not know they had no immunity to the diseases they brought. And conquering them was just the natural course of life for people in those times, just like the Greeks, Romans and everyone had done through out the history of the world. But nobody was going to see it as wrong in the 16, 17 or 18 hundreds. Sure we can look back today with regret and do our best to make sure it never happens again but that will not change the history nor should it. It was wrong by todays standards, but it was not wrong at the time. This how nation building worked for eons and this why we have country we have today... it is how it was build and whites where exploited by the rich and powerful just as much and anyone else for thousands of years before coming to the New World.

African's were not even apart of the Western Civilization, so these people never endured Medieval Europe or the rule of the Roman Empire, or Viking Invasions, or the Feudal Systems... were our women wer raped, men were killed and everyone was born poor, abused and died poor. So yes Africans in their turn were exploited and abuse... but at the same time they paid forward like every other race did within Western Civilization so that their children would have a better opportunity even if it was against their will they were given no better a choice that any of our white ancestors were given. Just like the Chinese and Japanese American did, they left China and Japan to work build the railroads in California. They were treated no better than slaves, but they did it because it was better then staying in China or Japan, because they know their future generations would have a better opportunities and they paid forward on that debt. Just like all our ancestors have through out history.

So here we are today where everyone has it better then they ever had it before, and its not good enough for them. They want more. So at the end of the day this country for better or worse has been build by white people, and we have struggled as hard as everyone else to build this country to be what it is and we are not satisficed either. We all want more, but yes whites are getting tried of the race debate... we just want progress.

Anti white racism is already mainstream. You can openly celebrate the idea of the “eradication of whiteness”, the “problem of whiteness”, “white fragility”, attack white men etc. and most people won’t bat an eye.

You can even openly discriminate against white people and tell them not to apply for jobs, or you can point to anything which is majority white and say that it’s too white/needs more diversity. Diversity is just a code word for “less white people” - you can’t say that something is too black or too Asian after all, and diversity never means “we need more white people”, only ever less.

Then you have POC saying that they need safe spaces away from white people. They basically want segregation.

This is what’s pushing white people toward white nationalism, and the more the left attacks white people, the more this happens. It’s what pushed me. I don’t hate people of other races, and I don’t say hateful things, but when I see that we’re headed to become a minority, that people are celebrating that, while openly speaking about discriminating against us and calling us evil, that says to me that we’re just gonna become a hated minority and that the future of things continue is not good. I can’t see why any white person would continue to support multiculturalism.

I’d also argue that this is just human nature anyway. A lot of people think that they’re gonna get rid of racism by having everybody mix with each other - some think that racism will go away once there are no more white people, as if only white people can be racist or hate people of other races. But this isn’t true. There’s conflict between other races as well, and many of those are not mixing. It’s mainly happening in Western countries. aren’t mixing for example. Plus even if people do mix, all you get are different groups who don’t get along anyway, because everybody is still not going to look the same. Their idea isn’t based on reality at all, it’s wishful thinking.

To add to that, people are better behaved when they love comfortably, however people become more tribal when hard times hit. The West is in decline.

Eventually, racism will die out completely. As mixed marriages and relationships become more usual, people will very slowly, but very surely, drift towards being similar colours. It may take many generations, but as long as humans can survive, it will happen.

That's most likely gonna take Tens of Thousands of years if you look at the rate early humans evolved at. Even then, there will still be isolated pockets of minorities

It seems, from conversations with older members of my family, that mixed marriages and now many times what they were 50 years ago. That is a huge step in mixing of races. It may well accelerate over the next 50 years, especially in Europe where diversity is prevalent.

I do agree it will take a long time, but it is happening.

In Europe and Anglaphone countries perhaps, but a lot of cultures in other places still strongly oppose interracial marriage

Having thought a bit more, I think in the short term, racism against black people WILL increase. But only in retaliation for racism against white people. My mother worked for a short time in retail, and was astounded by the racism by black people against her and other staff members. She resigned after a few months.

Honestly, I agree. I didn't realize you were that Dutch girl, but in Europe it's far worst. My Dutch YouTuber friend was filming a market in the Netherlands and said that a group of Blacks started shouting at her and her boyfriend to get away from her with those cameras.
There was a recent article on Yahoo! about how the president of the NNACP was basically bullied out of the organization because she was Indian.
And if you read the comments on Yahoo!, YouTube or other forums/news outlets, even here to some extent. Basically any place where they can express their views annonymously, you will see that people have had enough of Blacks. From my personal experiences, blacks are the most short tempered, entitled and hypocritical people on the planet. I even see it on here. There is one Black mod who is always insulting other users then plays the victim and writes posts to "clear her name" after people stand up for themselves. Another black guy always shits on White women, and other Blacks support him.
It's no one's fault but their own that people are racist against them.

It's already mainstream. We have a whole political party that openly amplifies white supremacists talking points like Tucker Carlson. Indeed, half the Republican party's midterm messaging is centered around trying to make people terrified of brown people crossing the border with their hand out.

There is a considerable amount of effort to get it back in full swing, which side will be on top it depends on who you ask but some of them are being taken more seriously than others and the scary part is that many who support it don't even realize how racist it really is but once you see the hierarchy they are trying to construct, you can't unsee it.

What's really scary is that one of these factions have reached and infected many state institutions, however I believe that as time goes on people will take them less and less seriously. At least I hope.
