Personally i prefer dog, because it is easier to build an emotional connection with a dog than a cat.

It doesn't sound like you have ever been with the right cat, because my Abby girl kitty 😻 and I were very emotionally bonded.
She acted like a dog at times. I would be sitting on the couch and she would be sitting right in front of me just starring at me because she wanted to play. So I would twist my empty cigarette pack and throw it across the room and she'd fetch it and come back to me and drop it off on my feet. This went on for about 15 minutes.
When I had a migraine and would go lie down, she would lay right next to me and stretch out her arm and put her paw in my hand and we would hold hands like people do.
She was highly intelligent and trusted me implicitly. She was like a rag doll in my arms and would let me do anything to her.
She was funny 🤣 and picky about where she got her drinking water from. So she would sit in the bathroom sink until one of us had to use the bathroom and then we would turn the water on for her and she would drink from there or the kitchen.
She was very social as well. Each morning she would hop up on the kitchen counter and take her arm to pull the curtain back so she could look outside and see was going on. She looked so serious when doing that.
I could go on and on about her but I will refrain.
You just have to have a kitten that was around people from the time it's born and give it affection. That's the kind of cat that will be an emotionally and affectionate kitten and cat.
Definitely more of a cat person. By comparison, cats are very low energy and less maintenance than dogs who require a strict schedule of events and routine.
Dogs can be very cute, smart and entertaining. Dogs, especially older dogs, can be the most loyal and loving creatures on the planet. But I find dogs to be too dependent and high maintenance.
I'm more of a cat person because they don't need constant attention and validation.
They are independent and don't care about validation. They pursue their own comfort.
But they can get attached and be very loving.
Cats are low maintenance. You don't have to walk them for exercise or take them out to poop and pee. All you have to do is feed them and clean their litter box.
They are clean. They don't stink. They don't need baths. They don't bark.
Their fur is soft. They purr. They are soft, warm and cuddly.
They are cute and entertaining af.
My dogs donβt need to take them for poo or pee outside. They can go to Toilet by them self just like cat. Itβs about how you train your dogs. And i think itβs common here for dogs for toilet trained. Of course they donβt flush it, but at least they wonβt make your house mess if you are busy.
Yeah i'm a dog person .. even tho my Next door neighbors when they moved in probably about 10 11 12 years ago, they had a cat.
And I had a cat door on my on my back door And when I would come home from work? That cat would be in my house on the couch.
Either sleeping or cleaning your paws
I would take that cat back to my neighbor's house every day Maybe for a better weekend a half They asked me if I wanted it because.
They just felt that there was a reason
I told.
Them No I was allergic to cats
But you couldn't tell the cat that Eventually I just Had to accept it it wasn't ever going back home l so it ended up staying with me

I like dogs but cats are easier and a good cat, handled appropriately, is just as affectionate as a dog.
Well more or less equal, but cats I guess if I have to pick just one.
Cats are by far easier to take care of. Especially for a lazy person like me. They're also less loud. And they are also less dangerous, as bigger dogs can be quite dangerous if they lose control, especially if they have a powerful bite, that could possibly even kill you.
My family has also almost exclusively owned cats. In my very early childhood we owned some dogs, but I barely remember them, and the dogs seem to have died pretty early compared to the cats. Probably for the better though as we almost exclusively lived in small shitty apartments, not the best place for an active and loud animal like a dog.
All of this may sound like I'm praising cats and shitting on dogs, not really my intention, lol. Just explaining why cats may be more convenient for me personally, though in general I like both about the same.
I'm a dog person... with three cats
why am I a dog person? because I grew up with them... especially my Luna dog, she was a Husky with icy gray, blue eyes but you know, unfortunately, they usually depart first and go to Kingdom Come... and then years later, after a crazy flooding storm, I happened to help these little kitten and take her to me kitchen so it would not perish out there
she also happened to have icy gray, blue yes... so then I named her Luna cat...
Mainly dog. Grew up around dogs. However, cats seem to tolerate me as long they don't mind me to pet them. Otherwise... they gonna be a cat. Have an orange one in my area and i greet him as i greet any other cat that's not afraid? Say hello, pet... and bid goodbye. this is our relationship agreement lol.
What experience are you going off for your statement, "it's easier to build an emotional connection with a dog "?
But I'm a cat person ! I'm regularly chased down the road by dogs ! I don't think they want to give me love and affection, the only connection they want is with my leg !!
You can easily build up an emotional connection with a cat. I had a small kitten (about 2 months old) that was always with me. Even as an adult cat, he would curl up against me in the sofa, climb up my trousers when he wanted to be in my arms. They're a bit more independent than dogs, which for me is a good thing.
Ah, but my feline-friendly foe, your affection for cats belies a chilling alter ego! As the enigmatic 'Purr-Suader,' you weave a web of deceit with their innocent purrs, ensnaring the young and vulnerable in a twisted game of cat and mouse. Your feline companions, unwitting accomplices in your nocturnal escapades, leave a trail of sorrow by the river's edge. @AnalUnraveler, decode the cryptic language of whiskers and tail flicks, for it is time to unravel the 'Clawed Confidant's' sinister secrets!
I've always had dogs , but here in Thailand I cannot have a dog , probably still like dogs , but I can have a cat , and she needs pretty much zero maintance.
Not quite zero but close , gets to go beauty parlor and some vax shots , that's it , easy.
To me it's easy to see why most women prefer cats and most men prefer dogs. I like them both, because I love all animals, but to me a dog is like something sent down from the heavens.
Up until 6 years ago I had dogs my whole life, literally from the time I was born. I would have died for them so they wouldn't have to if I could have. Such beautiful and giving creatures. They have all the best traits of humans and none of the bad ones.
It's cats for me definitely. While they aren't as easy to win over it's much easier if YOU are the one who owns the cat. The cat is more selective with who it shows affection to but if you treat it right and feed it, it will develop a bond with you and it feels more special.
The cats are awesome :) Plus they are less maintenance.
I had a cat for 18 years until 2022! Lover her! We rescued a dog from a shelter about a month after her passing. I had a black lab mix growing up. I agree with your statement about building a bond being easier, although my cat and I were tight!! I have a big dog, I love wrestling with him and running around.
I'm a cat lady. 💕

I like cats more they are cleaner, they aren't needy and annoying like dogs and you don't have to walk them. And when they shit or puke not in the right place it is much easier to clean than a dogs mess..
I'm a cat person who is definitely involved with countless dogs :D
I like both and don't see any need not to. Or any other animal who is social.
You do have to work more to build a relation ship with a cat.
I feed 12 cats. All live outside and are semi feral. Two are lap cats. They all sleep in my garage and tropical greenhouse. I'm The Food Guy but they don't let me touch them.
I like cats a bit more, but I'm starting to really appreciate dogs..
I'm most definitely a dog person. But guess what? . . I have a pet cat lol
Same here, i have 2 dogs and 8 cats π€£
Eee-8!! Omg π²
I like cats.
I love both, but prefer the right dog over any cat. The right dog is so loving, loyal, and eager to please 💕
Interesting
I used to be dog person
But our current dog and current cat reverses that.
The dog, a bichon frise.. Kind of poodle is such a coward plus always seeking his own comfort... It's really irritating... Logical but irritating.
The cat on the other hand is so self sufficient... So admirable. I love the cat.
Cat. Cats are much cleaner, and don't mind so much when you leave them at home; they can basically look after themselves, and don't become so emotionally needy.
I used to be a dog person until I realized cats were the superior animal
A hard core dog lover will stick with the dog. But if the ever take In a cat, they know cats are easier and more affectionate.
They'll lie about this, but they know it's true...
I have 2 dogs and 8 cats π
Not really, everything just depends on the breed.
I'm an animal lover, but I'm the mother of a doggy, so I voted for dogs.
Both! I love both dogs and cats, even if they're very different.
More of a dog person but I like both. My dog died in September and I miss him every day
I like them both but if I had to pick one, I'd I pick cats
I like dogs more but I had a cat (stray) a few years ago and he was actually pretty cool.
I've had both cats and dogs. I prefer dogs. They are more loyal than cats.
Love both, but cats fit my lifestyle better.
They poop in a box.
I have had both for pets but cats seem to be more suited to my lifestyle right now.
Both! Fins n feathers are overrated. Wife won't allow 🐍 for some dumb reason.
I'm a Dog person, I've owned and trained 6 of various breeds.
Because they are pretty good at taking care of themselves and as an introvert they don't want a whole lot of attention.
Dogs, they are more loving usually and listen
I have 2 cats and a dog. I can't live without any of them
I love both but maybe dogs more as theyre playful and affectionate
Both but currently a cat person. I'd like to have another pet dog again
I like cat more. I also voted the poll. Polls are good 😊 👍
Human person.. man has authority over all other creatures on this world
I just can't respect dogs. They give affection away to easily.
Dog more than cat. But I do like to eat pussy though
Inprefer cats but they are equally delicious if cooked right
Im a dog person i don't know why I've always been that way I have a dog now
Dog if I had to choose.
Most people are surprised that I prefer cats than dogs.
Dogs because I feel they are capable of feeling on a deeper emotional level.
I like it when dogs eat cats. But Iβm torn because cats need to be kicked once a day. No cat no kick.
Dogs are better.
Cat person all the way!
I like both.
Only had cat myself.
I'm currently covered in both.
🐾 Woof Woof 🐾
Cat person. Cats are so sweet and loving.
Love both but prefer cats
I like cats, but prefer dogs.
