I had perfectly straight teeth naturally until my wisdom teeth cane in with tops facing forward at 22. Waited too long to have them removed. Three months pushing was enough to cause a little crowding. It doesn't bother those loved ones who see it most. And I have a jaw injury from a car accident in 7th grade. No. Not worth mucking with anything again. My sister said braces were hell.

I've heard that the old-fashioned metal braces with rubber bands and all were horrible. Now they have things like Invisalign which I had in my late twenties. They weren't bad at all.

I actually looked into Invisalign. But because of my jaw it's out of alignment and they weren't able to use it for some reason. I never did understand why.

I would of got braces with my sister but they didn't put braces on me cause of the seizuer medications I'm on.

Yes, I had braces from age 11 until 14. Due to genetics I suffered with severe overcrowding and an overbite, so braces were necessary. They even helped my speech.


I’ve already started saving $$$ for my kids, as due to my genetics they will likely need braces too. Thankfully plenty of time to prepare as one is only 1 year old and the 2nd kid is still developing 🤰🏻

I had 5 teeth pulled for the braces, and later had my 4 wisdom teeth surgically removed when I was 21.

Thankfully I was young enough to not remember the pain of the 5 teeth for the braces, and I paid an extra $2,000 to be put under general anaesthetic for the wisdom tooth extraction.

my teeth are not perfect and they are greyish because of some antibiotics mom took when she was pregnant with me. They didn’t know about the side effect… so….
but it doesn’t bother me much.

I've had braces. I had them for a very short time as a teenager, then my wisdom teeth (I had 4) came in so they had to get them removed, then I had to get them again. Now I just wear a retainer religiously every single night before bed.

That's lucky. When I was in elementary school I probably could have used them but back in the day they had the headgear and just looked awful.

Near death motorcycle accident. The doctors told my parents I wouldn't live. Then when I did I was told I most likely would never walk. It took a long time & a lot of physio therapy but I proved them wrong.
