4.7K opinions shared on Other topic. Of course. Part of my job is explaining often very technical things at a level that my customer can understand - and my customers range from very technical to completely ignorant of tech stuff. A few have asked me to explain it to them like they were a 5-year-old. So I have to be able to translate things at different levels in order to get concepts across without insulting their intelligence OR making them feel stupid. It's sometimes a delicate balancing act, but either way, it requires a lot of thinking before I speak.

11 moLess than I used to. Speaking my mind and being open without caring about how others react is beneficial to someone who used to walk on eggshells. I’m not purposefully rude or mean just indifferent to others opinions of me. Growing up as a child in abusive environments caused a stress disorder of always trying to say or do the right thing to get along with others. It was terribly difficult and exhausting and caused excessive anxiety.
I’m much more open as an adult and nonchalant and it is essential for my mental health. A flower must bloom to its vulnerable open state or it will die.12 Reply- 11 mo

Yes
But thankfully less and less as time goes on
Overthinking halts action
Sure it’s important not to blabber the first random thing you think of but it’s also important to just be relaxed and speak your mind in every situation in life11 Reply- 11 mo
Absolutely!!
Depends how pissed I am or if I've been drinking/smoking. It's also a spectrum I'm still functioning high unless I get really blasted but drinking wise, I haven't been drunk in over half a year and I only get drunk, drunk 2-3 times a year normally on a really shitty day. I'm trying to cut back on how much I smoke too moderation is fine, but I think I'm overdoing it honestly, so I've decided to reduce my use.

m 11 moFor a long time, I thought that what I thought was obvious, so I didn't speak much. It was my default setting. And then I, slowly, really slowly, realized it wasn't true. What I thought wasn't obvious, I just imagined it was. So I still think a lot but... I also speak more.

11 moSometimes... but that "thinking" is more for Speakers that Do Not Want To Offend, well... i'm Not One of them... don't like to "hide" around the finger, i'm just say It as it Is... Take it or Leave it! Simple, Criticism should be Constructive but often is seen as an "insult"...🤷♂️
10 ReplyHardly ever… no filter either…
But that is not something I’m proud of.
I think some people have gotten offended but I am too dumb to realise it until way after or the next time I see them…
It is something I keep trying to work on because I would hate to say something hurtful to my little nephews or nieces that was not intended to be hurtful10 Reply- 1.9K opinions shared on Other topic.

11 moLife often requires an immediate reaction. Even thinking can give an incorrect response if your focus is too close to a topic.

11 moI try to. Doesn't always work out especially if someone has p-ed me off. Which is rare but it happens.

11 moOf course because I wouldn’t want to say something that I’ll regret later on. But then again it depends on who I’m talking too and what are we talking about? However if I’m with the fellas then shit I don’t give a fuck I’ll let shit fly…

11 moSometimes... Though, most of the time, no. When I do think before speaking, it's normal to think about something retarded to say to get others to laugh.
