For me it was back in 3rd grade when I was 9 years old. And it's a funny situation because the little motherfucker wasn't even from my own class. He specifically targeted me in the intervals between class. Such as when first getting to school in the morning, when leaving school at the end of the day, lunch, in the area where our parents picked us up in their cars, physcial education, etc.
And he was a lot smaller than me so if I wanted to I probably could've beat the shit out of him. He was almost an entire foot smaller than me. Though at the time I was super skinny for my height and he was average weight for his height.
But anyway he specifically targeted me for wearing glasses. And I thought it was silly too because back in like kindergarten we were already taught to not make fun of people in stuff like glasses, wheelchairs, braces, etc.
But anyway he would keep screaming at my face as loud as he could: "FOUR EYES FOUR EYES FOUR EYES FOUR EYES!!!" and then when he knew the teachers were very far he'd switch it up to: "STUPID FOUR EYES! FREAKING FOUR EYES! FUCKING FOUR EYES! WORTHLESS FOUR EYES!!!"
Then one day I decided I was just gonna ignore him, not even gonna look at him. And he just sort of kept going: "HEY FOUR EYES! I'M TALKING TO YOU! I'M TALKING TO YOU! COME ON FOUR EYES!!!" And next thing he spit in my face real hard and then punched me on the side of my face, my glasses fell on the ground, he stepped on my glasses, then spit on the floor near my feet and walked away.
I'm just lucky I knew him for only like a year and not more. And funny thing I never even got his name and he never got mine either.
And if you're wondering why I never stood up for myself, YES, I was just THAT much of a pushover!
I always had MASSIVE social anxiety and was literally scared of people so I was scared of this motherfucker a foot shorter than me.

I had a pile of bullies bc I was slower to speak up. I’d always been taught that it was disrespectful to speak up. And one day I was presenting a project and knew it was very stellar, but a bully from the group came to ruin the moment and I wasn’t having it. I stood up and spoke my mind. Folks were a little floored… and truth be told, so was I.
Since then only very subtle bullies have plagued me, but I manage to work my way past each one after a trial period to see if they are bullies or just “keeping it real.”
Bullies come in all shapes and sizes. Some even pose as friends for a while.
I also had a pile of bullies. The one in my story was just the worst one. People sure like to take advantage of those slow to speak up.
I'm very proud of your younger self for standing up to the bully who wanted to ruin your project. I unfortunately never had a moment like that, or at least not when I was younger. I basically went through kindergarten to 12th grade all 13 years not standing up for myself even once. I wish I had. Even if I got my ass kicked in the process and suspended from school at least I stood for something.
Yeah, subtle bullies can be harder to get rid of. It's good you managed to work your way past them though!
And yeah. Bullies who pose as friends are actually the WORST ones of all.
You won't share personal shit with explicit enemies but you will with friends. And when a friend turns out to be an enemy and uses the personal shit against you then it's just... ouch. 😬
