I will act properly chastised, as I am a cat, and a master bullshit artist.

Then I will find a cardboard box to hide in, and bide my time, before getting my revenge at 3am by hacking somewhere in the house for 30 minutes, waking my owner.

When they try to find me, I will stay carefully hidden, so they have no idea where the inevitable hairball will be deposited, but it will definitely be somewhere that it is sure to get stepped on, unexpectedly, with bare feet.

Then I'll knock some shit off the counter, for good measure, because I am cat. My default mode is devious evil. 😈
