Why does the word 'damn' secretly have an N in it, wrong answers only?

Many moons ago there was a cross-eyed, dyslexic, somewhat vision impaired elf with a hump on his back on a field trip with his vertically challenged classmates. It was a learning field trip & all the classmates were learning about water. On the field trip the students learned about oceans, waterfalls, rivers & streams. Anyway long story short there was a beaver & at that time beavers weren’t called beavers they were called N’s & the N made a home in the water that looked like a little hut & it looked like it was blocking one side of the stream. Anyway a few of the elves were jumping on the hut in the water & all of a sudden it breaks & the N was MAD. At that time the teacher saw the N’s house for the first time & saw what happened & saw how mad the N was so she called the N’s house a NMAD. Anyway back at school the teacher wrote NMAD on the board & the cross-eyed, dyslexic, somewhat vision impaired elf with a hump on his back wrote it down wrong. Instead of writing NMAD the joker wrote DAMN & when the teacher came over she liked the new word DAMN for the N’s home & she said it sounds great but drop the N & it was spelled Dam. After that the cross-eyed, dyslexic, somewhat vision impaired elf with a hump on his back said DAMN you I liked it the way it was & by the way I’m calling the N a beaver now because BEAVER was his name.

Now from what I understand that is how the word DAMN & DAM & Beaver came about.

Started with a typo. The program neglected to insert a space after the letter m and chopped off the rest of the text all together. No one knows what the text was it happened back in the 1930's

It's a poor abbreviation of "damnation" which likely refers to the Netherlands. It's only an urban legend though

It was a typo from the author that originally created the word. It's actually supposed to be damm.
