More people loathe Mondays than do Fridays, and thirteen remains a culturally pervasive unlucky number. So why do we face Friday the 13th with more trepidation than Monday the 13th?
Waking up today with an unexplained sprained ankle is enough to convince me. Plus, “Friday the 13th” is a beloved film franchise!
Are you willing to join me in making Monday the 13th the official day of misfortune?

A lot of the fear around Friday the 13th is based on longstanding folklore and pop culture, so just moving it to Monday the 13th probably wouldn't have the same impact. Of course, Mondays are already known for being stressful as they mark the start of the workweek, so some might joke that Monday the 13th is even more unlucky. But in truth, it is not the date itself that makes a day good or bad; it is mostly tradition, personal beliefs, and a little bit of humor. I think Monday the 13th is a funny idea, but Friday the 13th is probably going to stay the classic “unlucky” day.
No. Friday the 13th is just a superstition that became mainstream after the Knights templar were executed by the french king on that day
Or arrested im not to sure
That’s not true. The people of the twelfth century did not acknowledge any association between Fridays and the number thirteen before or after the event. That’s folklore that emerged centuries later, and there are multiple other superstitions that are likely involved.
Also, it’s not like it’s a holiday. Plus, we often get multiple Fridays falling on the 13th. It’s not like a holiday or anything.
You are right but I looked it up.
The specific superstition of Friday the 13th being an unlucky day did not prominently exist until the 19th and early 20th centuries. While both the day Friday and the number 13 had individual histories of bad luck dating back centuries, the Victorians are credited with marrying the two concepts into a "double whammy" of misfortune
Friday the 13th of October, comes from when the French King convinced the Pope to excommunicate the Knights Templars so he could steal their wealth and relics as he was massively in debt to them.
Only in hindsight. The people of the twelfth century didn’t associate Fridays with the number 13 for bad fortune or any other meaningful way.
