Guys, would you share a hotel room with a female friend?

My guy friend invited me to Ohayocon next year and we're both really excited. But it dawned on me today that that means we'll most likely have to share a hotel room. Do you think he knows that? Did he plan this? What is he expecting to happen?

To add some details, this boy liked me (don't know if he still does) and asked me out once. I declined because although he is a great guy, he is my best friend's ex and she told me it'd make her uncomfortable. We live about 2 hours from each other and only ever talk through Facebook chat. I'm not too concerned with sharing a room with him, since we went on a camping trip with our friends and we slept in the same tent (along with two other people). I'm just confused and a bit worried about what he might be planning.

Absolutely I would, but you can bet that unless she was directly related to me or ugly as a toad, I would most definitely be thinking (at least on some level) about what could happen. Maybe I'm just odd, but I don't think that's the case. I don't think he's plotting the entire thing around a hotel encounter, but as soon as he realizes it's coming up, he'll almost certainly think about it. Don't think it's such a bad thing, though, chances are good that he won't try to force anything, but you might think about how it would make you feel if he made an advancement, and consider what your reaction will be. You could even start a conversation about it, maybe crack a joke when you arrive and lead into a conversation about how you see him platonically (do you?) and don't want things to get weird. If he's respectful about it, he won't push you, and if he's not, maybe you should rethink your friendship.

classical case senario that he is actually asking you out :) it will be easir that you two are alone and sleeping under the same room ti suduce you and make you fall for him .. now you should be cocerned about your priorities .. do you care for your best friend's feelings or your feelings .. and then decide

i am not a guy but I am a girl who shared a hotel room with a guy I knew liked me. everything was fine. he stayed on his bed, I stayed on mine, no problems. I felt safer hving a guy there. then the following year I stayed alone with him and his best guy friend who I just met at the time

If she's already dictated that we're JUST friends and turned me down once before, I probably wouldn't be trying to make any moves. But if we're generally flirtatious with each other, and I've got some reason to be thinking that my advances would be well-received, I'd probably try to get into her pants.

But in any case, I wouldn't have any expectations.

I'd probably get a 2 bed hotel room. If it accidentally turns into a queen sized one bed.. Id just sleep over or under the sheets while she did the opposite. I wouldn't make any moves unless I felt like the situation allowed for it, though.

Ah, yes, fond memories. I've shared room with up to 3 women, in, ahem, varying circumstances.

I would, regardless of if I liked her, it wouldn't mean anything to me. If I did like her, then I'd want to, though I wouldn't expect anything.

Yeah. If we ended up just getting a one bed room I'd offer her the bed and sleep on the floor.

He might be. But you're not a fortune teller. If he does and the feeling is mutual then what his ex doesn't know won't kill her, just go with it. If the feeling isn't mutual then just say no or get a separate room.

Haha if we're friends, of course I wouldn't expect any of that.

I'd probably sleep on the floor or on the chair so she could be more comfortable.
