He wouldn't walk me out?

Question

I hung out with this guy, I guess I'm seeing, and was about to leave and we said bye, and as the door was closing I heard his sister say "walk her out" and he said no, in a kind of rude way. I don't know if that's a red flag or not. I'm really freaked out about guys using me, so that kind of set me off. I don't think I was supposed to hear or if he knows I heard. Is that a bad sign?  He never walks me all the way out, just to the door.

He does lack chivalry for sure, as a man I can decipher that, I mean who would let a girl you hung out with or guests who've come over leave just like that...leaving them till the main gate of your house is simple courtesy. honestly, don't mean to hurt you but may be it is a red signal or 'may be' he wants to keep the guessing game or whatever going for sometime...at least I would walk you out if you ever came over as a simple etiquette, the same may not go for a guy friend always because you know how we are yea! but for a girl, it should be a standard thing.

Just let some time pass, observe his behavior if he is being courteous or pricey...and then decide if you would be interested in hanging out further.

Ask him directly why won't you walk me out to the car. If his answer strikes you as wrong in any way ditch him. We always put out our best in the beginning of a relationship. That's true of both sexes. It only goes down hill from there when the "honeymoon" period ends. If its not good in the beginning then it will never get better in time. If his answer may be a cause of not having a good father presence in his life then tell him you expect and deserve to be escorted to the car. If he still refuses ditch him now. You deserve better.

is this just how he is in general? would he carry your backpack if it were too heavy one day and you were sick and you wouldn't have to ask and beg him too? would he give you his jacket if yours got locked in your locker and you were freezing? if there's one thing I've taught my daughter it's that you get the respect you demand. If guys aren't respectful and it's something you want and it's important to you? then don't hang around waiting for him to develop into a respectful kind of guy, either he is or he isnt. If he thinks he's too cool to be a gentleman...walk away. If he's like this and it's the 'honeymoon' phase of your relationship, imagine how he'll be when it wears off.

This guy just hasn't developed into a gentleman yet. That is all I can figure.

Could be that he doesn't like having his sister tell him what to do.

It's not a big deal. Forget about it, it's not a sign that he is using you, it's a sign that he is awkward and undeveloped.

I agree with some of the other folks: this guy has "limited" manners that probably aren't going to improve, PLUS he clearly doesn't like his sister butting in, even when she's right. I'm fairly sure his "rude tone" was because his sister was trying to tell him what to do, not because he had strong feelings about not walking you out.

At the end of the day, you know how he is, and you either need to accept him how he is, or dump him now before things get more serious. Don't expect him to change significantly, or you'll almost certainly end up being disappointed.

If it feels wrong then it is. Trust your gut.

If he will not walk you to the door then he will not walk with you anywhere. He has no respect, funny his sister knows what is expected and told him so.

Let him go. Why is he with you. Not waking with you is proof that he does not care about making you happy. Yes, he will use you if you let him.

Old school gentlemanly behaviors never go out of style completely, and in today's world, walking your girlfriend to her car and seeing her off safely is good from a security standpoint as well.  The guy probably reacted to his sister getting in his business without thinking.  Either that or he figures you might read too much into it if he acts like a boyfriend and isn't.

Its a little disrespectful not to at least see her out, because most guys would want a little privacy when saying their goodbyes to the girl they are with, because what guy does not want to kiss hiss girlfriend before she leaves, so for a guy to not want to do this is kinda lacking in interest and respect really in my eyes, I would want and expect more if it was me,x

He may be inexperienced with these kind of settings and what could potentially happen at the end of "walking you out". Replying rudely to ones siblings is perfectly normal especially when they try to coax you in to doing something you are not yet comfortable doing and her saying that within your earshot brought out an embarresed and rough reply. If you ever hang at your house ypou could show him how it is meant to be done.

Well he's young and inexperienced in itself so that shouldn't be much looking into. And also as a guy whos got an older sis, everything she told me to do... I did the opposite, being rebellious so to speak, cause I didn't like her budding ( mainly thinking she can boss me around  because she's older :p ) into my personal business (especially her being annoying and nosy when I'm around a girl or even texting someone -.-).

You should be fine.  Maybe he didn't want to look submissive around you.  Maybe he thought you would think he is a big puss if he did.  Maybe he thought you are not into chivalry.  A lot of maybes that don't involve him planning to use you.

It might be that he's embarrassed. You bring it up next time. Before you leave, just say, "So... are you going to walk me to my car now?" in a playful way so there's no pressure. See what he says. He might just need to know that YOU'RE okay with it.

1. He doesn't want you to think that he romantically likes you.

Brothers and sisters fight all the time, I think it was his way of fighting with her at that time. I don't think he's using you...we'll only know that if he has sex with you then leaves.
