What does it mean when a guy compares you to his ex?

I met these guys yesterday they were really funny then he said I reminded him of his ex I didn't know who she was and I met him yesterday. I didn't even have his phone number and I still don't but I am kind of confused because he said she was anorexic and hated by a lot of people. But he didn't seem to hate me and I am really confused I have met many guys before but no guy has ever told me this. I didn't approach them or anything they talked to me first but one of them talked more and told me I reminded him of his ex is this an insult or a complement. He also asked me where I lived, where I go to school, and for my information I just didn't give it out. So what does this mean?

Well for any girl to not be seen as an individual but instead compared to an ex girlfriend should be taken as a insult, because surely you deserve to be seen as who you are, not who you remind them of,x
