Guy I'm talking to forgot my birthday

i've been talking to this guy for about a month consistently for a month.

last week I mentioned my birthday and he said all the usual stuff.

well my birthday came and went without him at least wishing me a happy birthday. to me its just another day, however if someone acknowledges it, it generally feels good that someone remembered.

today I sent him a text that my friends were taking me out for my birthday (which they are not). I just said that to see if he has a response like omg I forgot etc.

he clamis he really likes me but he can't remember my birthday. if I care for someone I will remember somewhat important things. Am I wrong?

No you're not wrong, how can you be wrong about a statement about yourself? You said, you remember dates when something is important to you, that's great. That doesn't mean it's that way for everyone else. I've been with my fiance for almost 2 years and it STILL wouldn't surprise me if my birthday slipped my mind. Is it annoying? Maaaybe just a tad, but for the most part I just find it amusing. Don't pay attention to the little crap like that, that's how women drive men away, they can't stand the pick pick picking. Go by the big things. Do you have fun with him? Does he make it obvious he wants to spend time with you? Does he make plans with you and follow through? Does he make you laugh? Feel comfortable? Feel happy? Feel good about yourself? These are the things that matter, you yourself said you don't really care about your birthday, so don't knock him down for not caring either.

u are right but if you like someone even a tad, you tend to remember stuff like that. I don't know maybe its me, that's the way I am, lol. not everyone thinks the same. I'm not knocking him for it, just don't know what to make of it.

Did you say it was just another day to him? Maybe he thought you didn't care. But I'm surprised he didn't pick up on your fishing text, unless he really did forget and was too embarassed to say...

If you didn't tell him that it was 'just another day' to you then I agree with the other girls; if it bothers you than consider that he might be forgetful/thoughtless in other areas. Maybe if you see him in person next time on your b-day he will remember. I was really surprised when the guy I liked said happy birthday to me in person - that he remembered!

no I didn't say that to him but I am talking to a someone else for less time and he remembered to wish me a happy birthday. I guess just want to know if they pay attention. its not a big deal but it just bothers me. maybe its me lol. thanks for the response.

You haven't been talking for that long so maybe that's it. This is just the beginning.

But, some guys just aren't that thoughtful and he may not be. If it bothers you now, his lack of thoughtfulness will probably be a bigger issue with more things in the future. Some people are thoughtful and others are not.

If I care enough about someone and they randomly mention their birthday, I remember it and I will wish them a happy birthday as I am one to believe that the thought is what matters most :)

i guess its just the point. again it doesn't bother me badly. he says all these nice things but can't remember that. I not mad at him, just a little disappointed I guess.

don't start taking him on a guilt trip already. Women are crazy, they discard all the efforts a man has made over one small thing and turn it into a huge deal. Women need to learn to chill the f out and stop taking everything stupid crap seriously.

You said your birthday is just another day to you. If you told him that then he might think you don't care so he didn't bother.

no I didn't say that to him. the thing is that I am talking to someone else for less time and he remembered to wish me a happy birthday. I'm not exclusive with the either guy, haven't met either one yet, just talking stages for both. really its not a big deal but just wanted to see if he was paying attention. I did send him a text that was going out with friends and still no reply. I appreciate your response.
