What does it mean when a guy says you're "TOO perfect" etc during a breakup?

I've dated a few guys since I've turned 19, only a few serious, and those serious ones always ended with them saying things like "you're too perfect for me" "you're too good for me." "I feel like I can't make you happy."

Which is weird, it's not hard to make me happy, I'm always happy, and always greatful and appreciative when people do things for me.

Anywa, I feel like these are just excuses to make the breakup easier for me and I swear I'm not bragging. I really just don't get it, or understand how I'm supposed to fix a problem that really doesn't make sense to me.

Because they feel like they can't keep up with you, possibly saving future heart break as they think you are out of their league and it would never last.

They mean just that, you're to perfect in their eyes.

a lot of guys probably look at you, or hit on you and that you will leave him for someone better when they come along.

It means he's just saying things so that you are "off his back." He doesn't want you to cry and go crazy about the break up.

Haha, yeah I don't believe that, because I'm never clingy or crazy about breakups. If a guy doesn't want to be with me, he doesn't and that's cool, because he's making space for someone better
