My rude and insensitive boyfriend.

ok so I have been with this guy for 2 years now, and at first it was great it really did seem like a match made in heaven, unlike any other relationship I've ever been in. I truly fell for this guy, first time I fell in love with someone. About a year and some he started acting differently, he's a lot ruder now than he used to be, he gets angry easily over silly little things, he NEVER apologies to me when I have told him he hurt me, yet he expects me to apologize to him or silly little things. He's so insensitive to my feelings, he has always got to be right about everything he really thinks he's the smartest guy in the world, ( which to me is annoying, so full of himself). He assumes the worst too, like and example tonight I was using his phone to text my sister, but then he started txting his dad so I just stood there and waited then I looked into the mirror and he just throws the phone on the bed and he's like "here you go" and was rude to me, I was like what? He said well your obviously want the phone badly because you rolled your eyes! I was like WHAT THE HELL? (in my head) I never rolled my eyes I was looking in the mirror! It was just weird and uncalled for man. He does this a lot and more so lately, it just seems to me like he always wants to fight with me I haven't don't a thing to instigate this, like I said I love this guy. But I fear he's going crazy. I know what I want for my life and a relationship like this is not what I want at all. I have tried to talk to him and calmly talk about things that bother me, but it doesn't work. :( He gets angry and starts turning things around on me. So I'm at the point now where I have tried and now I think I have to break up with him.. Problem is... We live together and I know if I try to calmly break the news it would turn out disastrous. I'm wondering if anyone can give me some tips on how to deal with this/end this?
