Florida school district rejects kid-friendly dictionaries because they might be harmful

Florida's Sarasota County School District has banned school libraries from buying or accepting donations of any book until January 2023 — and this includes dictionaries. When a rotary club in Venice, FL tried to donate hundreds of dictionaries before the 2022-23 school year — a tradition they have followed for more than a decade — their dangersome gift was turned away.

This is thanks to the Gov. DeSantis-signed bill that requires every book that enters a school to be vetted by "media specialists," all of which haven't even been hired yet, according to the Herald-Tribune. Gar Reese, a member of the rotary club — which has donated $4,000 kid-friendly dictionaries to Florida schools over the last 15 years — says if public schools don't want the books, they will either hang on to them until next year, or just give them to private schools instead.

In Texas, teachers are deserting the classroom at high rates, with Houston alone reporting nearly 1,000 vacancies in early August. In Maryland, more than 5,500 teachers reportedly left the profession in 2022, leaving Baltimore with an estimated 600 to 700 vacancies going into the fall.

Department of Education officials in Pennsylvania are calling that state’s shortage a “crisis,” and experts there say the state will need “thousands” of new teachers by 2025.

Ok so I wanted to find cute guys quicker and wanted to see who actually swiped right on me. So on my dating apps I just started swiping right on everyone. And I can’t believe how many guys actually swipe right on me, never thought it was so much. I just started doing this yesterday and have tons of matches it’s crazy 🤣🤣

If these things are met, then the relationship progresses:

- You never got into ugly arguments with yelling matches nor insulted each other. It's ok to disagree on topics but never ok to be verbally abusive.

- Neither you nor your partner has problems with the parents. Both sets of parents like each other.

- There is mutual help in the relationship and both are serious about wanting a family.

- There is no jealousy nor trust issue whatsoever.

- Similar views on important topics

- Good management in finances and knowing when to save money

If the relationship already has lots of arguments, drama, too much differences, trust issues (even worse if cheating too place) and either your parents hating your partner or your partner's parents hating you then I can image that can either slow down the process or transform it into a dead-end that eventually leads to a break-up. After all what would be the motivation of wanting to settle down and have kids with them? None. You already have the negatives you are already dreading moving towards the next step.

It's like you're already having an issue with your employee and is he's still in training... after all that are you doing to even want to promote him (even if he has worked for 6+ years)... nope.

Generally speaking, do women know women (how they think, what they want, what they like, etc...) better or do men know women better?

When I walked into the bar he was looking at me, then when I walked up to the bar I turned back and seen him looking at my body/bum.

He moved himself further away but I could see him much better there.

But then he never approached me etc.

He could have a girlfriend or something but why look at me at all, did he decide I was ugly? If he did why the full body look?

i. e. "you can't wear our traditional ethnic dress, but we demand to be considered part of your nation if we immigrate to it"

or "you can't say our word, but we demand to be integrated into your neighborhoods and schools"

or "you can't celebrate our holidays, but we're going to celebrate yours"

Lets say they didn't exactly committed infidelity, not that you know of. However they did this:

- Lied about the whole relationship, even lied about their real age

- Scam you with your money, never paying it back (or even use you for a Green Card)

- They never loved you and you were just accomodity to them

They basically cheated you out of a life (years), a life you could've with someone else.Would this also count as cheating too?

So, recently we found out that my boyfriend of 9 months 17 year old sister is pregnant, about four months along.

We were all supportive, the father-to-be has already stepped up and is prepared to support her and the baby.

However, that's not the issue, the issue is I found out my boyfriend knew since she found out, but didn't tell me.

He said she told him not to tell anyone, and I told him that doesn't include me, we're supposed to tell each other EVERYTHING, and he disagreed - he says if someone asks you to keep something to yourself, that means exactly that.

We've had massive fights over this the last few days, and he won't budge, I keep reminding him how partners are supposed to share everything, and asking what else he's been hiding, and he just keeps reiterating how he respected her wish to keep it secret until she's ready to tell everyone.

Am I right?
