I am certainly not the first one to admit this > women, mostly, don't know EVERYTHING that they want.

We, as women, know what we DON'T want!

Since all of these things vary wiledly from person to person, I'll leave the specifics to you.

What we want changes through time, but there are a few constants: a kind person, funny person, ambitious person, a person that can go from humble to bold when need be. Call me naive, but I presume most sound-minded people would find these characteristics very appealing.

So when is a good idea to date the, now even infamous, Nice guy?

When you KNOW he really IS nice, when you know he isn't going to be a doormat, he isn't bitter nor is he self-depricating. Why? Because when 'nice' people are all of these things they're usually angry and very bitter underneath.

No matter how nice someone is that doesn't mean they have to take whatever is given to them. They too should be fighters with ambition and conviction. Being 'nice' isn't a personality TYPE it's a personality TRAIT!

Most women (outside the Internet) want a nice guy, and I men a REAL nice guy, it's common sense actually. Just like most guys want a nice girl.
Thing is, since girls tend to be more passive, they let themselves get manipulated, and they end up with the bad guy, but in the end, most just wan a nice guy with the traits you mentioned in your take.

Funny how those two quotes contradict themselves.

First says "Balls are weak[...] Grow a vagina[...]" and the next states "Women want [...] a nice guy with balls". Ironically it shows that women truly don't know what they want (lol).

I agree with the "Safe, Heard and Understood" part though, and this is why women should take more than half of the conversation (60-70%).

All too often a guy will try and suggest things when the girl is having a bad day. For example, if the girl is complaining about her day at work and how she can't seem to concentrate, she doesn't want the guy to say "You should relax, get more sleep and have breakfast", she wants you to say "No wonder, you work so hard at (job)... tell you what, get into bed and I'll bring up some (snacks, coffee, etc..) and I'll run you a hot bath/shower."

One day I'll figure out "Womanese" and I'll have no trouble with long term relationships. I always become too complacent and when the relationship ends I realise where I went wrong and it does my nut in.

On the topic of "nice guys" it really depends. I consider myself a "nice guy", but I like to think I'm exciting than that. I do my best to listen to her, I do my best to make sure I understand, that she's safe and knows that I feel strongly about her.

Hopefully one day a special kind of girl will walk into my life :)

I admit I'm not too happy about myself, and can never be bold, but I am very humble, am always kind to others,(but not a doormat), have a fair sense of humor it seems, and can be ambitious to things important to me and people I care about.

women dont kow what they want. most of them. they might have some clues but they are very vague and even deceiving sometimes. attraction happens in a very subtle, subconscious and often primal level... . it can never be ovestreched enough how important confidence and experience is for a man, if we are talking about secular women or any woman in fact... .

Nice guys are stereotyped a lot as guys that are nerds or nerdy looking. It is really annoying lol. Also they are stereotyped as ugly OR average looking nerds or average or ugly guys that are not nerds but look it. I agree, nice guys don't look a certain way. Even though I am a nice guy, it annoys me how people always stereotype nerdy guy or guys that look nerdy as nice guys. I have met so many nerdy guys and guys that look just look nerdy that were assholes. I met a good amount that were racist or bigots.
