Let me preface by saying.....Interracial are beautiful.

1) They are literally a sign that there is less racism in the world.

It shows that the person respects who they are with and don't care about what others have to say about their relationships.

2) And all racists basically die when they see interracial couples

Even though it is 2017 racism still is happening and people don’t like seeing other people dating a different race. Jealous people don’t like seeing other people happy so keep doing you.

3) Love doesn’t see the colour of your skin but through the pigment of your heart.

4) Let's be honest....The babies are gorgeous

Where do I even start. The baby is literally a swirl from two different beautiful races. Everyone will be fetishising about how these children would look like. The best part about it is that there are so many possibilities about how this child could look and they'd still be already model worthy.

5) They give a new perspective of life.

As Hannah Montana once said. You get the best of both worlds...and that's literally what's going to be happening. You see things differently...from the little things that probably don't matter in your culture to the ones that do in theirs.

Your relationship would be normalized. No one would look at you and wonder how you do things. They'd start to assume everything is the same as a non-interracial relationship and this is a good thing to show to those outside of an interracial relationship.

I don't think interracial relationships should be made illegal or shamed but I also don't think it's necessary to promote or support it.
It's more of "If it happens, let it happen" thing. It shouldn't be forced. Some people don't want to date outside their race, doesn't mean they are racist. They just have a physical preference and this preference is their own race.

I would like to say first, that I don't think that dating "interracially" makes you more open minded. The very fact that a person maybe thinking they are racially different from other people could actually be the result of a very closed mind.

My niece married a young African man from Togo. She just felt that the African-American men in her age group were not very mature. But she was physically attracted to dark skinned men. So she started dating men who were immigrants with dark skin. The thing is they still have to navigate cultural differences. Cultural differences are real. Supposed racial differences are not real in a relationship other than the external expectations and societal stereotyping that folks have to deal with. If my niece had held to these weird fake beliefs about race, she may not have chosen this man from Togo. Now, she may be wrong about African-American Culture, but at least her bias has to do with something real. . . like culture as opposed to something fake like race. Then she would be stereotyping all "Black" men this way or another.

I don't think "interracial" relationships factor much into fighting racism. It sure doesn't seem to matter to racists. And people who enter these types of relationships can have deep-seeded racial attitudes about race. I don't want to date a woman who has a fetish for "Black" men. How can someone love me for me, if their head is filled with all kinds of stereotypical garbage about "Black" men? And how can a person who clings to racial stereotypes, make a dent in racist thinking?

The last thing is, I admire that your photos show people of different backgrounds having relationships. That's cool. But in reality, when people talk about "interracial relationships", it is usually about a "White" person and a non-"White" person. It is rarely about two non-"White" people. And that is sad. Because it shows a failure to understand what the basic differences in the human race are. The basic difference between has to do with culture and history. It has to do with how we were raised. Race may have an impact based upon the society we live in. But culture is an issue wherever human beings exist.

I have an Indian friend who talked about his life in India and his opinion on who the members of his culture are, is much different than the fantasy of race.

But again people of the same "fake" race but of different "real" cultures can have much to navigate.

I totally agree with you on this whole entire topic & i'm glad that lots of people are starting to get into interracial relationships a whole lot more. Because it truly does show how much people love each other all the way without worrying about racism. Those type of people who always has problems with interracial relationships & talk bad about it are just the kind of people who are still thinking of 2017 as the years from the early 1900s & still doing their best to relive those moments. I just wish that people can just accept these type of relationships & be happy for the people who's found their true love with the one person they love the most instead of coming up with ways to destroy it. That's true. And most people including many parents are always going against interracial relationships just because they hate it themselves. I'm for it and against it. I am for it for a lot of the reasons your for it. However I am also against it. I am a black man, and it seems like every black person out there wants to date outside of their race because of the inner turmoil of the black community.

You're right, though! Our race tends to date outside our race. I talked to women and men within our race who tend to date outside our race and here are some things that said:

-mixed babies are beautiful
-black men are too aggressive and only want sex
-black women are too ghetto and only want a thug
-black men don't know how to treat their women
-black women complain too much and expect too much

I think it's sad, honestly. I think one of the biggest reasons our race dates outside, is because they are ashamed of who they are and don't want to be with someone who is black.

It also doesn't help that tv shows and movies glorify black/white couples. I watch a lot of superhero shows and it's usually a black/white couple. When they are together, everything seems fine, not a lot of drama, lol of love and affection. I also watch shows like Empire and when black couples get together, it's nothing but drama. Same with these reality hip hop shows. It's teaching people that if you are black and date a white person you will have a better and loving relationship. That's what I see on TV these days. We need more shows where there are strong black couples, like Black-Ish.

Well, it largely depends where you grew up and how you were raised. I was raised in a middle class household in a suburban area away from the city. My parents also taught me manners and respect. I have a girlfriend, who is also black, and I treat her like a queen.

I hate when people says, "well, black men are this and that," or "'black women are this and that". Not all black people are the same. If you date a black person who was raised in the city, chances are they will have "undesirable traits"... not all of them, but a lot will. It just depends on how the person was raised and where they were raised.

Few people's lives revolve around the perception that everyone is racist against them such that they intentionally seek out a partner of a different race. That you put so much emphasis on racism or perceived racism as a rationale for supporting interracial relationships seems odd.

Who goes and dates/marries a person of another race... to show they aren't racist. NOBODY. If that's how you choose partners, you have bigger problems to worry about.

The single largest problem about interracial dating is cultural differences. Particularly with family values and raising that family. Cultures with vastly opposing views on family are the ones that rarely work out.

Anything from basic etiquette, beliefs about religion, education, child raising, finances... are often deeply rooted in one's culture. I have cousins who have dated people of very different cultures and it often doesn't go well.

Here's a few examples:
- Asians often offer to pay the bill at a meal. The custom is to alternate... you pay, I pay... it's a gesture, and in the end, both people end up paying the same amount. What non-Asian bfs/gfs do is that they think it's a free meal, and they never reciprocate. The family ends up paying for all of their meals, and they become a leech.

- Education. Ever heard Asian tiger moms? Asians typically grew up believing that you can become the best if you try hard enough. This is why Asians put so much pressure on their children to do well in school, and this is also why they even immigrant Asians outperform domestic White Americans in school. Western values are the opposite. They think if you push your child too hard, they will get stressed out, cry and rebel. Western belief is that you're born with smarts. If you're not, no amount of trying will change that.

The list goes on...

But yes, mixed babies are cute.

The reality is that interracial couples who have children put a sometimes heavy burden on their children. The children of interracial couples are:
- more likely to grow up in a single parent household
- more likely to have sibling (s) from a different father

I think that if two people genuinely like each other, others shouldn't talk shit and try to separate the two or make life hard for them.

That being said, i dont think everyone should date out. Most of the time, a shared culture lets a man and a woman have more in common, similar beliefs and expectations, and this can in turn kead to a more stable relationship. Of course , there are a section of people who are more attracted to people different than themselves, but many people prefer partners similar to themselves.
