I hate this with a passion. Women are really the weakest sex. They can’t handle a damn thing, can they? They play fast and loose with life like they’re god or something. It’s actually sickening. If they don’t want it, then it’s worth nothing. And then everybody acts like that’s okay or something.

We can’t determine the value of life based on everyone’s individual opinion. We need one that’s set in stone. We all agree that murder is wrong, why is it only wrong when hey are born? If I killed a newborn baby right now, I’d be an evil murderer, why does it matter that it’s inside you? It doesn’t, it’s still a life aregardeless. This attitude is disgusting and I hope women will do better because we can’t keep living like this.

Start being more responsible, women, start understanding that your actions come with consequences. Start understanding that when you have sex that there will always be a chance of pregnancy. Plan accordingly please jeez.

I believe in the right to choose. If someone is against abortion, That is okay. If someone isn't against abortion, That is okay. People should just live their lives and not force their ideologies on others.

Pro-life. I was taught that the social acceptance of abortion was one of the greatest progresses of our time. When started to think more critically instead of accepting and regurgitating what I was told, I changed my mind.

A baby is "someone". A fetus is not a "someone". Personhood requires consciousness. That's why we have no problem pulling the plug after brain death. Consciousness is an emergent property of a developed brain, and is certainly not present in a 12-week fetus.

@slatyb Especially because humans have shown so much science behind consciousness. Especially "what makes me, me" and "when did I become a consciousness."

There's a great paradox regarding teleporation.
If I get teleported, my body structure would have to be disassembled or destroyed in one place and recreated in the other place. But in the other place, that would not longer be me.

I just made a point about how little we know of our consciousness. We don't know when and how it starts and we don't know how it ends if it ever does - we simply don't know.
We don't even know where our consciousness is located in our brain, if it even is.

@slatyb That is false. Humans are able to live without half of their brains and continue a normal life. So it doesn't come from the whole brain.

@Tilin29 so are you saying that consciousness is not a result of chemical activity in the brain? That there is a part of human beings that is non-material?

I am saying it's very poorly understood. We have found that two neurons can interact with each other even if one gets separated within the brain. There's no physical link, but they do interact with each other.

Besides back on the topic. Since a fetus does not have consciousness (Because it's basically asleep the whole time), can I kill you while you're asleep or any other person? I mean you're not in the state of being conscious at the time.

The nervous system is one of the first things to start forming in a fetus. That itself then develops into a brain. We are unaware if the consciousness hides in there, simply because we're unable to define what consciousness is.

I'm just asking because there are a disturbing amount of women, who aren't afraid to keep men completely in the dark about an abortion or even think they are entitled to do so. That's one of the things that concerns me about this obsession over abortion rights, that more and more women will keep men completely ignorant of such an ordeal just to preserve their own happiness.

i value your view point entirely, here in the uk there is more and more debate how out of balance with p. c things are getting.. your example a female can make the decision entirely on her own same as to keep a child then potentially after birth or years later claim for a share of up keep.. however.. if the father wanted to keep the child and she didn't what if he staked at birth he takes complete single parenthood should the woman carry through the pregnancy?

Do you agree that cells come from humans and that they are living cells? You can't agree on that and say that cells isn't life. And you can't agree that when them cells combine to make a baby that there isn't a baby either.
