Believe it or not you can do all this and SOME guys still won't get the message.

Yes, but this is the proper way of handling it. Go about doing your due diligence first. If it continues, only he is in the wrong and ignoring him is justified. If you skip to making things up or ignoring, then you're just the stuck up chick And no one will sympathize with you for not handling the situation.

Then resort to discussing politics. Quickest way to send him running. If you can't stand his, or he thinks you're incorrigibly ignorant, bam. He'll disappear.

    Good take!

I usually just lie and said that I'm taken. I just can't bring myself to tell a guy that I don't find him attractive. In order to do that, I have to have my hat and broomstick ready.

Trouble is, some guys cannot take an honest answer from a girl. They will pester on and on. Some guys just don't get it when a girl says she is not interested anymore. Most have trouble respecting a girl's wishes

Well both sexes are entitled to have their own expectations. Sometimes girls get rejected for nothing - yes, it is heartbreaking, but one needs to be mature enough to move on

Nice and bad is subjective and for each individual there is a different yardstick by which he/she may judge people. Nobody is expected to fit into expectations. Well, if both see a reason to get along - both will compromise on expectations and work towards a mutual goal. But, if it doesn't? Better respect other's wishes

It depends. But then again sometimes no answer or explanation can be the worst. It leads to a lot of overanalyzing.

Rejecting a guy is such a hard thing. It is like shooting a helpless animal.

Indeed it is. Good to see that you recognize that. There really is no easy way to reject a man unless you're convinced that he's a slimeball whose feelings are irrelevant, which is a topic for another time. That said, if you do it properly, you will feel like a monster; if you do it improperly, you will actually be one. The up side of doing it properly is that he will be less angry at you, not because your reason is pretty but precisely because it's not. We appreciate a woman who is willing to lose face, as that kind of woman is depressingly rare. She may not -want- us, but at least she respects us enough to come clean.

Shooting a helpless animal is not a bad analogy. No one likes to do it, yet sometimes you have to put an injured animal down. Therefore, do it quickly and decisively, just like you would a suffering animal.

I know you didn't address your question to me, but I'll answer nonetheless. A slime ball will act poorly no matter how you reject him. Might as well do the right thing and reject him quickly and decisively.

I usually try to give hints with the whole excuses thing so I don't lead him on with false hope because I hate dragging it on when I know/suspect the guy likes me and is asking me to hangout

Number 4 is probably most important just be honest and let them know that you don't feel the same way about them but don't be brutal to them let them down nice and easy don't be rude.

Great advice.. We should all be telling the truth. Often females find that men are attracted to them and the female loves to play. Oh what a game! Not fun when your on the other side of the coin.

well if you really want a guy to move on from you, then do something that will disgust him (let him see you the next day with someone else) but not to a point that he will 'ray rice' you. Believe me it happens to me a lot

I feel bad. I usually pretend I don't hear them. But I don't really feel that bad now that I think about it. It's their fault for not taking my hints.

I've done all of this, but he won't listen and keeps coming back. For God's sake he's my ex's best friend, almost like his big brother and he likes me just because he saw the way I treated my ex.

Nice Take. The advantage to honesty is that the feedback might be useful. Otherwise you're kinda flying blind.

    5) stand him up at a party

    6) go with him to a party, then dump him to then flirt with every guy.

Yeah, but... What do you do when you know the answer would break their heart and even if you've been polite about it, they've been vindictive and embarassed you in front of your crush and sabotaged that and still aren't giving up?
