How to deal with your boyfriend who disappeared!

Disappearing on someone you claimed you cared about is definitely harsh, insensitive and disrespectful. Leaving out of the blue will leave you hanging, in terrible need of a closure. You might even feel worthless and unloved. But you know what? You're worth it, and you're definitely loved, not by that person, but by a lot who cares about you and your feelings.

I've recently had someone who claimed they loved me endlessly disappear on me, leaving me with a thousand questions. He promised me the world... believe it or not, my relative passed away and I was in terrible need of his support, but he chose to leave despite that. He did one hell of a number on me... I cried endlessly, not only in mourning of my dear relative, but also for feeling neglected and disrespected. It was the most awful feeling in the world.

With time, I realized he never deserved my tears, not even a drop, he never deserved any of things I did for him. Leaving me that way was definitely not my fault, it's his. His issues, his lies, his bullshit. I sent him a break up message and I'm sure he read it. I'm glad things ended early, because it would've been a lot worse if we took more time.

Now, how do you deal with it? It's not easy, but it's definitely not rocket science. Realize, know and believe that's it's his problem!! He's the disrespectful coward with a bunch of issues. Work on yourself, care about yourself more, do things that make YOU happy. Sometimes when we're with someone, we get carried away trying to please them and forget about our own selves. Love yourself more and never accept anything but the best. Realize that life is full of disappointments and that you have to get yourself back up and stand tall, no matter how sad or depressing it was, because seriously, no one is worth your precious tears. Improve your best skills and always be proud of the beautiful person you are, one stupid guy/girl isn't gonna define you, it isn't gonna decide whether you're worth it, or not. With or without them, you're worth it and you always deserve the best, as long as you have a good heart.

That's exactly what I did, and guess what? I met someone and they're actually awesome. So, never mind a stupid person who doesn't even have the decency or the courage to be honest.

My ex used to do this. He used to disappear and reappear and I put up with it. It hurt at first but then it got old. However, it did make me have stalker tendencies... I was so insecure I grasped at anything. I used to record when he logged onto Skype (see if he was dodging me), his house was only one corner off from my commute to work so I would see if his car was there.
I'm not proud of what I did.

But one day he left for a week. And I was driving home and who was in front of me? You guessed it. But I knew where he was going. He was meeting his new girlfriend behind my back. The following week he came clean and broke up with me and that hurt knowing it was true.
I cried the first day and after that I wiped my tears and I didn't look back. It took me a long time to be okay to date again, but a year and a half later (and one patient but slightly ticked off current boyfriend later) I'm with someone else and we are celebrating our year anniversary. We have only fought twice, we are best friends and big kids but I wouldn't change it. When he says he loves me I know it's true.

It is remotely possible that he was kidnapped, abducted and murdered, fell into a sinkhole, enslaved by pirates, or abducted by aliens. . . but we all know that he disappeared because he wanted to do so. In my opinion, this says that he is a coward because he couldn't face you to say goodbye, and he is also a despicable rat for ignoring the impact on you. IN your particular case, with the death of a family member, it is even worse.

You are right, he is the problem. But for his behavior, you wouldn't have lived a made-for-TV movie.

I have a solution. Let's hunt him down like a dog, put a bullet through his head, hang him, and the bury him beneath an outhouse. A few months later, let's retrieve his body and set it on fire.

Just to share but I have a guy best friend who means the world to me!

2 years ago, he turned on me for no reason. He became distant to me and I thought that it was because he was having trouble dealing with his health, although I had endlessly attempted him to communicate with me to no avail.
Then I log onto Facebook one day to find he tagged me in a status about me destroying his life... I just remember feeling... numb and then extremely upset. I ended up texting him asking what it was I did wrong again to no avail and only to receive texts from his cousin saying "you know what you did wrong". It wasn't nice, especially not knowing what it was and his own family turning against me. This caused me to have an emotional breakdown, it still upsets me bringing up the memory.
He finally texted me saying "sorry but I just can't talk to you right now". I left it for 2 days and asked again what it was I had done, again he wouldn't tell me and this led up to an argument which broke off our friendship. I don't whether he was telling his Aunt to do this or if she did it on her own accord, but she sent me threatening messages.

This lead up to 2-3 months of absolute emptiness and depression. Everywhere I went was a constant reminder of him and our time together and how I'm never going to get it back. The only way I could escape was by going out drinking every Friday night. I always thought that alcoholics were weak, but really they drink to escape from the emptiness they feel inside. Then one day, he came back and apologized, saying he missed me and finally told me what it was I did wrong. Apparently a friend of his had told him bullshit that I had been talking to him and backstabbed my best friend and because of the stress of his health he wasn't thinking clearly.

I had a feeling someone had told him something falsely about me and I always thought it would have been one of his ex girlfriends. Turns out it was the guy friend he had I only met once for 10 minutes, don't even remember his name or his face even but he made up a story about me meeting him and telling him that I said all these horrible things about my best friend.
He was literally the last person I thought would try to break up our friendship! He's a complete stranger to me and yet he caused me emotional distress just because he could. But he wasn't okay with having a friendship. He felt like a friendship with me was a slap in the face, because he wanted to date me. I did not want to lose my friendship so I (completely my fault. They weren't real in the heart of it. So I ended our relationship, he needed to not be stuck with someone who was not truly in love with him, and I needed to stop deceiving my parents and lying to myself just to make one person happy. I had promised this boy my entire life, just to make him happy and not lose my best friend. And taking that promise back was by far the hardest thing I've EVER done. For the next three months we tried to be friends. But he continued using my emotions against me, like I mentioned he did earlier. I lose ALL value I had to him the moment I was a best friend, instead of a girlfriend. To me, he was still my best friend and I still would do just about anything to make him happy. But he didn't feel that way. So after begging him, time and again to please care I finally had to walk away from this hurtful situation. That was absolutely devastating to me. So now, going back to your take, am I "harsh, disrespectful, insensitive, unloving, cowardly, and dishonest"?

Of course you're not. My situation is a lot different than yours, and could not be compared whatsoever. He chased me, he did his best to get my attention, he fell in love with me first, then with time I started to grow feelings. We didn't start as friends, like you and that guy. I never, ever pushed him to feel anything for me, he just did, all by himself and was so crazy about me. One day, he hinted on marriage, I didn't wanna talk about it that much, because I still have other things to do, so a couple days later he started the disappearing act. He suffered from the same thing with a couple of his exes, and he said how cruel that was, now he pulled it off against me. He also didn't bother standing by my side when my niece died... I am simply pointing out that there may be more going on inside of him than you know, because when you actually are that person that disappeared its not like its fun or anything. In your original post, it seemed like the guy disappeared just out of the blue. But apparently, it was after you refused to talk about marriage? It doesn't excuse his disrespectful and insensitive behavior, but it does seem like there is an explanation for his disappearing act. Maybe he is one of those guys who want to rush into marriage, and he was hurt that you weren't on the same page. True story i understand your pain thank you for sharing i dated this girl she was my friend for 6 years we always liked each other anyways a few months ago her parents forced a break up on us during this time my sister was near death from cancer, my mom freaking out crying praying too god he dont take her baby from her. This happened to me exactly! We had only dated a few months but he was moving fast and was pretty serious (even insisted on meeting my family). One day he lied to me about not being able to see each other and I caught him drunk at my work. I got mad, he was upset. I wanted to talk about it and work it out but he disappeared, I never heard from him again. I went through so many stages-anger, denial, depression, regret then finally acceptance. I moved on, realized he was never worth it and I'm so much happier. I found the best person EVER!, I was so depressed and down with myself. I had no real friends to turn to for comfort and basically went it alone. Right now I couldn't be happier with the girl I found, She showed me all the flaws with the girl I thought I loved and showed me what it is like to actually be loved. That has happened to me a few times in real life.. and times when I've tried online relationships too. It's hard because you get no closure nor an explanation for their disappearance. So it influences the false hope factor where you think one day they will come back with an apology and you'll get back together. I had a guy play with my head like that for a few months... he started out always telling me how great I was and seemed fascinated with me..

Once I had sex with him that was when he slowly started to become distant. He would ignore my messages, and first make up excuses like his phone was turned off, he was trying to spend time with his son (the kid lived away and visited him every now and then) and all that BS. Eventually he just ignored my messages completely and that was that... He doesn't live here anymore though.

Oh dear Lord, I'm in a similar situation right now! My grandmother recently passed away and then I met this great guy. He pursued me, chased me, woke me up with sweet messages, told me he loved me and we talked about the future. We went on two really sweet dates, then he tells me he isn't ready for a relationship and drops off the face of the earth. I didn't hear from him for ages and during that time I was utterly devastated. Devastated that he'd left knowing the grief I was feeling, that he said he'd always be there and so I stayed at home and cried all day. Couldn't even get out of bed. I was just broken.

I started to get my life back together, focused on my friendship, and my future. I really really feel for you. I'm in a similar situation right now. A girl I've been seeing for over a year just vanished on me. I had no reason to suspect that there was someone else the entire time we were together. We had really good chemistry, which she herself said to me a week before she vanished on our last date. We were very involved. Met her family, had a very strong sexual relationship. We communicated well and never had a hitch during this time and she confessed multiple times how much she loves and cared about me and that I made her feel incredible. Yeah, it feels really crappy to be walked on like that... I've read and heard this happening to a lot people it's actually scary! Like, how would you trust anyone again, if the majority pull that shit out and leave?

Hey... I feel ya girl... I was with a guy for 3 years and he just stop call me and got a new number. I never knew why he did that. I suspected him talking to other girls online or that he could still have feeling for his ex-wife. I was young and stuipid and thought that love would make me feel completely. But. In all honesty all I wanted wanted was a best friend a good friend. I have found her in myself and haven't really found a real person that could be my best friend.

What do you do if it was someone who was the very first one to treat you right, he left cause of a rumour he heard and then comes back into your life very unexpectedly 6 months later? im having that problem right now.. but for some reason now he's starting to ignore me..

I've dealt with the exact same thing. I got disappeared on in March. It took a little while, but I'm realising now that it was his loss.
