Do I still like him or am I stringing him along?

I met this guy 5 months ago and I immediately liked him and felt attracted to him. However, it took 2 months for us to start messaging each other because we are both relatively shy but when we did I felt giddy and excited for his messages, and I thought about him a lot. This lasted a month, at which point I kind of gave up and was trying to stop talking to him but then he asked me out. We had fun but did not kiss and continued to hang out every other week. All this time we did not kiss or hold hands but we messaged each other every other day. But then on the last date he gave me a peck on the lips and I did not like it.
Now I feel as though it is a effort to message him and I don't know if I like him any more. He gave me a Christmas present - which I thought was weird. I do enjoy spending time with him but then I find him annoying until we meet again. Do I like him? We have a lot of mutual friends and he is very nice but I'm never sure how I feel because I never wanted a boyfriend in the first place.
