My muslim boyfriend told me he wouldn't want me to drink alcohol?

We are going on holiday together hopefully. He told me that he wouldn't want me to drink alcohol, but I can if I want. He said he wouldn't like that thing in my body. I think alcohol is fine to drink in moderation. I just don't want me drinking alcohol to spoil the mood. Do you guys think I should drink or not?

Do so if you feel comfortable with drinking alcohol for yourself. He is just starting to begin controlling your actions, this is typical behavior. (I have a friend who nearly married a muslim guy, this sounds like the same exact pattern he used on her.). So, no I am not stereotyping all muslim guys, just the same type of behavior I have witnessed.

If this is what his motivation here is, to change you to fit his ideal muslim woman. After that he may continue almost using force or threats of to impose his will over you even trying to control the way you think and view the world around you. My friend says he used to throw the most childish fits when he didn't get his way or if she dared cross him he would call her the most vile names and insinuated she did some of the most disgusting things.

She is twenty five years old and this guy would treat her like she was ten. It's taken her a couple of years to find "normal" again, he won her over at first being the most romantic guy she ever dreamed of. After he got her, he stopped being romantic and began imposing his will on her more and more until she had enough and ran. I hope nothing like this happens with you but myself I wouldn't put up with it.

I was raised a Muslim, and it's a HUGE sin in my religion to drink. Consuming anything in harms to your body is an absolute no no. My boyfriend is Irish. I'm completely cool with the fact he drinks because I drink too LOL. In all honesty, there are going to be a lot of times that your boyfriend will control every situation that he finds sinful. It's on you if you want to put up with that long term. If you are a drinker, don't change what you like to do for someone else. Is he right that you shouldn't have that in your body? Yes, he's being caring at the same time as he's being religious. Not necessarily a bad thing.

I suggest you don't drink with him, unless you REALLY REALLY want to. Believe me your boyfriend is a nice guy because he is still allowing you to drinkbe alcohol, just not in front of him. Show him that you respect him for his religion, you can drink later.

I'm Muslim and my boyfriend is Christian. I'm forcing him to limit his habits of masturbating because that's haram in Islam. But I allowed him to do so only when he absolutely needs it. I just can't force him to stop an old habit, besides he could easily cheat if he wanted but he doesn't. That's more than enough for me to not be strict with him.
