Like any other generalization, there will be exceptions. However, there is considerable substance to support this one in particular.

The foundation of this idea is that most women prioritize commitment, while most men prioritize sex. Therefore, each gender is the "gatekeeper" of whatever the opposite gender desires more.

I happen to be a huge fan of this concept, because as a "gatekeeper of commitment" who actually wants commitment, I have a certain leverage in dating that most people don't have.

This statement use to be true. See the world use to be sorta normal an balanced sex wise. Now most are confused so a lot of women are acting like guys not dykes I mean playing games commitment wise an guys any guy can get any gurl right time an place. The roles have switched so I'm not shocked cause it plays out. But there is still regulars out there just spread out. I personal believe it to be true.

That sounds like it'd be something true for people who view relationships as something that exist purely to 'guarantee' access to sex whenever they want.
(it completely ignores the fact that men don't always want have sex and will sometimes not be in the mood. Or that not all women are interested in lt relationships and sometimes, want to be with a guy mainly for sex just the same.)

Well, it seems debatable... till you get married.

I've been in a marriage, and I only have sex when my wife wants it. She can find almost any reason to say no. And has.

Guys have leverage when they are yet to give commitment. At one stage, I didn't realise how powerful this was. But once you commit, it's over. Today the State also makes sure that you will be heavily penalised (divorce settlement) if you walk out of a commitment.

In my relationship with two women, I realised how desperate they were to have a man in their life. Of course, I didn't push them over this, but yes, that was the only sense of pwoer I ever felt in a relationship.

Women are often the " gatekeepers " for both , as it is FAR harder for a man , on average , to gain a woman's interest & enter into a relationship , than vice versa , one small mistake on the man's part = rejection. Also , again as an average , female sex drive is generally much lower than her male counterpart , due to testosterone levels , so definitely gatekeepers for sex. Finding a compatible partner , a challenge for both.

Disagree. You get what you want if you truly want it and work for it.
A man can easily get sex, and have the girl/s go for him for sex if knows how to do that.
Just like women can easily get commitment if they know how to get it.

Because this site is filled with losers, that's why men can't get sex, and women can't get a relationship. They think it's better to whine and get bitter about the opposite sex than to actually fix themselves and go for what they want
