Would you ever “test” your partner’s loyalty by setting them up to cheat on you? How would you feel if it was done to you?

I wouldn’t do this but I’ve seen a video where people do this on camera and for example... a girl had her boyfriend go install the cable for these twin sisters who tried to have sex with him and she watched as it was happening. He turned it down and she was a little mad because she cheated on him multiple times and I guess didn’t want to feel bad about it.

I personally think this is stupid but I know of a lot of people who’d ask their friend to hit on someone they like to see what they’d do.

I feel that would be beyond disrespectful. Partnership is all about trust. Destroying that trust can previously wound the partnership, even if the other never finds out, there still are cracks on the springer-of-the-trap's end.
Also, let us not forget the lesson from the famous ye olde book known as Don Quixote volume II. In it, the characters find a book called, 'The Curious Impertinent' about a man who tries this very same thing with his wife. The person he uses to tempt her runs off and takes her (which happens to be the same guy who suggested tempting her). The lesson of the story was a "If it ain't broke, why fix (test) it?" While I doubt this is a common occurrence, it shows that people have been considering such scenarios since the early age of gunpowder if not earlier. And the people of history also go down against trying it.

I would never do something like that, and if it was ever done to me; I would dump the girl, immediately.

I would never stay with someone who didn't trust me. I just think it would be ironic if she went through all that, just to determine that she was able to trust me, then find out that she can, only to have me break up with her immediately afterwards.

No, I wouldn’t do that. I think it’s a manipulative and disrespectful thing to do. Once I’m in an established and trusting relationship with someone, I’m not worried that they’re going to cheat. And prior to that point, showing interest in someone else wouldn’t be cheating, so I can’t really hold it against them anyway, so why bother. I think intentionally testing someone this way is a messed up thing to do.

I would never disrespect my partner like that. If I didn’t trust him, I wouldn’t be with him. And if I thought he was cheating on me, I would confront him and face the issue head on without sneaking around.

No. Why would you test weakness when you can encourage strength? You are asking for failure when you do this. What you need to do is demonstrate to your partner that you value them in a way THEY can understand. What you think you are saying/doing might not be what they hear, as well intentioned as you are. Read the book "The 5 Love Languages" (it's excellent on audible), for a more in-depth look at at this concept. Do not invite options to fail. You won't like it when you get what you ask for.

There's only two reason someone would do that. 1, low self esteem 2, there is no trust in the relationship and thus, the relationship is probably already over. These types of games never end well
