That sounds like something someone spoiled would say to excuse their awful behavior. If I can't handle someone at their "worst"(that could mean all sorts of things like possibly an abuser) I'd probably think I don't even want them at their best.

And no doubt it came from Marilyn Monroe. A woman who had big boobs and smiled in front of the camera and every single other aspect of her life was absolutely awful and that's why she downed a bottle of pills.

I know personnally such a woman. At her worst? Resentful, thinks she's always the victim and never guilty of anything, tends to hit under the belt, bossy, infected by wrath, thinks she did good therapies but never healed from her traumas... she has good sides, but her dark side is really exhausting. So, I decided to stay away from her in 2023. I don't know when I'll reunite with her.
