How long should I give my boyfriend to calm down after a fight?

My ex-bf and I got in a pretty big fight over the phone last night. (We are very close and were in the process of getting back together) It was over something stupid, he took something I said the wrong way..and the fight got serious. He got really angry with me and said he couldn't talk right now and he was hanging up the phone. He text me right after saying how I ruined what should have been a good convo. I probably shouldn't have said what I said but I didn't mean it that way.

I called him a few times and sent like 3 texts apologizing and he responded once with "well you ruined it" and haven't heard from him since. I haven't tried to contact him since last night because I know he needs space after fights sometimes.

Do you think he will call me back? How long should I wait before trying to call him again? I am going crazy because I feel awful right now and want some kind of response from him. I don't want this stupid fight to stop us from getting back together

First of all, don't feel bad about what had happened in the past. Remember that people like you for who you are. I am assuming that you guys have dated for a long time. Most of the time, it's guys that apologize when opportunity arise. If you guys were trying to get back into relationship, then fights are not a pretty thing. You know him better than all of us, so you need to calm down and relax. In my opinion, you can send him an apologize message containing: "I never meant to hurt your feelings like that." Or some sort of message similar to this. Then wait for his response. I can assure you on one fact: You know the answer. Cheer up!

I'd give him several days. Sounds like these big fights aren't unusual for you two!
