It's definitely not the right time to do that. Very awkward and CRINGEY. There's a time and place to be lovey dovey. People should understand that and SPARE US THE CRINGE.

Pretty common practice in my clan at least it used to be. They're getting up there in age. Rhey just as likely to say "get off me", now lol.

As bony as I am, it's uncomfortable for anyone to let me sit on my lap, so I wouldn't do it either way.

Not something I'd do regularly. We played a game where everyone was gathered close around a board and I sat on his lap. It wasn't awkward.

I do it all the time. Even when we split up for a very short time I still when to his Mom's Birthday Party and was sitting in his lap. Family embers would say yep we csn see you two are splitsville then they'd catch us kissing in the kitchen, I told his Mom your Son is irresistible to me... She said so why are you fighting it? Then she took me in her room and we talked and cried and we went back to the party and I got down on one knee in front of everyone asked him if he would be my Boyfriend/Partner/SO whatever you want to Label us? I just know I'm empty without and need to be your Girlfriend/Partner/SO!!! I Love You with All ❤ and he knelt down with and said we were never split up he was just giving me time to adjust to fears/questions/doubts...

Depending on the family members who are around.  I respect my elders, I wouldn't want to be rude. Least some in my family would think it's a bit much.

It's awkward. Unless there's literally nowhere else to sit, I wouldn't do that, it'd feel inappropriate.
