@loveslongnails your statistics are old and flawed, studies implay women get away with cheating more, so In the past when they servade couple therapist about who cheated more it found the men where got caught more often or where more likly to be honest about it. The simple fact is the studies on who cheats more can't factor this in, also I don't know where you got the 30 to 40 that way high

Surveys are dependent on the honesty of people. Also they're many women who felt their infidelity was justified so they don't count it as cheating. Does those survey account for this
@Sparda20xx No, it doesn't, but that's also the explanation for why the numbers may be lower than actual in the first place. Even in a private, secure, non-coded survey, people have shown reluctance to be forthcoming about infidelity - fear factor I guess.
Men would also feel the same justification. I strongly doubt there's a vast majority of women holding back from admitting infidelity because they've felt "justified".
Men cheating is viewed as "you know how men are" for many years so, depending on the age, may not bear the same consequence as women cheating, therefore men may be more honest about it. I would be interested in how these studies were selected. Is it age specific or does account for women of all ages. Are these studies mutually exclusive and all inclusive? Lastly how do the survey designers account of Type 1 or Type 2 errors
