No it’s not the norm. Sociopaths are abundant though (5 percent of the population) and they will do it without guilt and are excellent liars/gaslighters. I had the displeasure of briefly dating one a few years ago.
But it’s the people who are borderline that bother me. They feel semi guilty and other women say “oh it’s okay follow your heart”’. Bullshit. Cheating is cheating. The only thing worse than a cheater is a person trying to justify it.

No sociopath's are made from environment and will kill eventually I'd say more 2% at most. Antisocial is closer to 5% of any of the true violent disorders I'd say it's most common
But I'm not in clinical or criminal so thats just a guess
