NO, If this is the only child, we'd be divorced before the birth of the child I'd have no blood tie to it, it would be for Ex wife and AP to sort out.
If there are other children from the marriage I'd have them paternity tested if only to set my own mind at rest, as if the wife has done this once she may have done it previously
I'd be out of there. I'm generally an open minded person with relationships but my number 1 rule is, no kids. And thinking I would pause my life just to raises someone else's kid for them... absolutely not.
I'm afraid she would be on her own if it was not my child. If it was mine, we'd likely still be apart and just raise a child together.

I have actually heard that in some states, under certain circumstances, the husband is legally required to support the baby. Even if the biological father is someone else. Weird I know.

@OmNomaly: Thats if he doesn’t contest it within the first few years of the child’s life. A child born to a married woman is presumed under law to be the husbands.
@Avicenna It is a rebuttable presumption, but in most states, there is a time limit such that if the husband doesn't discover it in X number of days, he is stuck with the bills including child support. So all the woman has to do is get away with her lie for a certain period of time, and she is rewarded with lots of money. Essentially this rewards FRAUD and its completely unfair and unjust. In California,
"You have 30 days to take a paternity test if you wish to dispute a summons from your local child support agency. If you miss this deadline, the courts will establish you as the legal parent even with evidence demonstrating otherwise. Always respond to a summons or complaint from a child support agency right away. Fill out the appropriate court forms, have a lawyer review your paperwork, take the necessary tests, and serve your papers to the child support agency. The agency may then dismiss your case if a paternity test shows you are not the father."

Paternity fraud is surprisingly common.
@Avicenna They contact fathers to extract child support from them, and to get them to admit paternity if the mother named them but there has been no DNA test.
@msc545: When they’re separated or still live together? This make no sense for a married couple otherwise. Unmarried, yes, although obviously 30 days is way too short.
@Avicenna I think this is done primarily with unmarried couples. Also with both married couples and unmarried couples, they send some to go to the hospital after the baby is born to get the man to sign papers admitting he is the father. They do this in front of the mother. When my daughter was born they came to our hospital room and tried to get me to sign such papers. I excused myself, called security, and had them thrown out. My ex-wife and I were VERY offended. I was doubly offended given that I am on staff at that hospital.

Now, I've got something even worse to share with you. In Germany, unmarried mothers are urged by the person who issues the birth certificate to leave the father off of the birth certificate so they can disappear with the child if they wish. This apparently happens even when the father is present and the couple tells the registrar that they are engaged! This did not happen to me (presumably because I was married when all three of my children were born), but I've heard from a large number of reliable sources that it occurs regularly.

I would not raise another man's child and pay for it. That makes me a cuck - no thanks. The child is his problem. Additionally, my wife would very quickly be my ex-wife, and she could be his problem too. I won't live with a cheater.
