I was answering your first question “I cheated. What are my next steps?” Breaking up is the most logical thing to do next. But if you were referring to why you added the other girl back, the answer is because you don’t take your relationship seriously. You’re not committed enough to your girlfriend. If you were, you would forget about the girl you cheated with. You can’t have both of them at the same time so break up with your girlfriend or actually commit to her

I'm lost, mostly about how you are trying to claim some sort of moral high ground. You want to know what to do next? Stop putting yourself into temptation. You added her back as a fall back because you are self sabotaging and intend to do it again. Why you intend to do it again is because you want to. Drunks do it all the time. The get sober because they have to but hold onto that one bottle of jack. They keep it hidden away because they still want it and it makes them feel better knowing its there incase they ever need it. My real advice is to grow up and look inward instead of projecting onto others. You have no moral high ground to stand from. But go on and lecture. You seem to like the sound of your own voice.

You never said if you were caught or you came clean. I may be wrong but judging by how you added her back I'm guessing you were caught. If you can't bring yourself to cut all contact (this includes the temptation of reaching out) then do your girlfriend a favor and end it. You're being selfish, plain and simple. You aren't thinking about either woman's feelings. Just your own. So once again grow up and do what's right.

Remove every trace. Her number, social media, everything. But I doubt that will stop you from cheating again. Your mindset is not that of a repentant person but that of a person being deprived of something they want. Good luck and may god have mercy on your girlfriend when you do it again.
