The level of talent required to be a really, truly good singer is VERY high. (Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, etc)
The level of talent required to package yourself and get noticed however, is rather low (Nicky Minaj, Cardi B, etc)

So if they're trying to be a REAL singer and can't cut it, let them know. You're doing them a favor. But if they are passable, can rap, and their voice sounds ok when electronically manipulated, maybe they have a shot if they've got a good gimmick or they're really hot looking !! LOL

No. I wouldn't tell them that they are terrible. They'll eventually figure it out on their own. Others will tell them.
Everyone is entitled to have a hobby they are passionate about, even if they suck at it.
At most, I'd tell them to go practice in the garage or someplace where I didn't have to listen to it.
Now if they asked me if I thought they were good, I'd be honest and say something tactful but truthful.

I would not say anything, I know a woman who got into a car accident and at first could not wash more than 2 dishes a week because of how bad her brain injury was and now she’s published 16 books and won two awards for her publications and her books are sold at chapters which only accepts high end publications.

This is a hard question because you want for your partner to succeed I think what I would do first is I try to help them where they need help at I don't care what it is in life there is always a way you just have to be patient and find that way so I think I could try to help first until I just couldn't take it anymore LOL but no matter what we do in life even if we think we're good we can always get better nothing ever Remains the Same we have to change with it

If I were dating a woman who wanted to be a singer, I would direct her towards taking professional lessons. That way she could figure out on her own if she were good enough. And even if someone were a very good singer, lessons are still a good idea to keep at your best.

I've learned over the years that my opinion is not necessarily the right answer! So, if the person had a reasonable amount of talent that i could help somehow, I'd surely stick with them. It's hard to watch someone fail at a dream, but it's a shared victory if they win at it!

There's always a way to be more tactful, and besides... I would not say it to make them quit, if there's room for improvement then that's what you aim at.

My ex and i used to wanna rap. I tried to tell him in the nicest way that he couldnt flow for shit. Like i could flow but i didn't have the voice for it. I prefer to ghostwrite and then he couldve wrapped it. But he didn't even have a voice appealing enough to wanna hear in a song. So i let him do his thing and embarrass himself.
