The whole entire point of a committed relationship - especially a MARRIAGE where you literally take VOWS to remain faithful to each other - is to WORK THROUGH YOUR PROBLEMS. Marriage is NOT a fairy tale where you "live happily ever after" - it's more like building a sports team: you have someone to work with on life's problems, but you still have to put in a ton of work and practice and struggles are still a routine fact of life. Just as you can put a couple of great players on a team, but that doesn't guarantee victories, and doesn't prevent injuries (or car accidents, drug abuse, divorces, money problems, etc.) that can affect the outcome of your team, marriage doesn't automatically mean success: you still need to work at it every day, together as a team.

If you are not happy in a marriage, your obligation is to TALK TO EACH OTHER and try to work it out. If you can't resolve things on your own, then the next step is to bring in a neutral outside party to help you: a counsellor, a minister, a therapist, etc. If even that doesn't work, then the final step is divorce.

What is NEVER okay is cheating. There is NO justification for cheating. Cheating means you are selfish and that your word is meaningless and your character is trash. It means you are trying to cheat the system, though it nearly always ends up worse for you in the long run.

No. If you are not happy with the marriage, work on it. If it can't be saved, then get a divorce. That is not a reason to cheat

That's a poor excuse... These people that say they're unhappy and cheat,... Do they ever consider if they're partner is happy or unhappy as well.. Of course not, cuz people that cheat are selfish and only think about themselves... Not the person they cheating on, or the person they cheating with... So they hurt TWO people out of selfishness🤦🤷

Depends on that individual, and how selfish they are, Cheating is a selfish act and something that individual will have to live with knowing they were a piece of shit , and suffering the consequences of their actions if they get busted , if their is trouble in your marriage you are best to try to fix it as much as possible then running off screwing someone else , My thing is if I am going to run off and screw someone else that is my answer to end my relationship immediately cuz I already answered my own question that I don’t love and value my partner if I can cheat on them , The worst cheaters are the ones that go back to their partners and act like nothing happened, they are only wasting their time stringing someone along that they don’t actually love , they are living a lie and lying to their partner , how can you truly love someone you have to lie to? If you care about that person even though you know you are a piece of shit , let them go so they can find someone that won’t walk away from them , Keeping them around just shows you are a selfish person and only care about yourself , you will never experience true love

Divorcing with children is complicated, so if the marriage is failing it may be simpler to have an affair than divorce.

It’s not a certainty. Troubles can eventually be fixed, and there’s plenty of other ways of reducing stress in the meantime. Cheating is simply the coward’s "easy way out". (And back into even more trouble soon enough.)

Maybe, but maybe not. Not all unhappily married people cheat. Cheating is a very cowardly and selfish thing to do. Not everyone will sink to that level.
