No, I don't think that men are loyal only when threatened with the loss of their marriage. Any woman who believs that has an extremely dim, condescending, and unrealistic view of the moral state of men in general, and that attitude almost guarantees that her relationships will not be successful.

I doubt it. Loyalty in a relationship is maintained by mutual respect, trust, real love, and even compatibility. Nervously walking on eggshells around your spouse is unnatural; it will hardly any of the aforementioned vital aspects of a relationship and will ultimately prove self-defeating.

I think it’s important to make it clear that cheating is a red line that won’t be tolerated. You can do that without threatening a man directly. It is definitely unwise to threaten someone else with leaving as a way of influencing that person.

If the woman threatened to end the relationship and the guy knows he can't easily replace her then it's to his benefit to be obsequious if he wants to stay in a relationship.

Let me see if I understand the question. Are you asking if a guy will be loyal if he knows the woman is capable of ending the relationship and that he could possibly choose to be loyal because he knows she could pick up and leave him if he cheats? I would say the two are not related because the guys who cheat don’t care about the feelings of other people. If they’re gonna cheat on someone, they’re gonna cheat because they want to not because of how strong the other person is.
