The kind of kids I want are baby goats:

I come from a big family, and I love my brothers and sisters. I used to think I wanted to have a big family like that with lots of kids, but as I got older I never had any time or money to spend on children. So I realized while it was a great experience for me, I'm not sure I'm cut out to be a parent. I have a lot of goals for myself and I feel like being a good parent would mean putting those goals aside and spending the rest of my life, or at least a good solid 20 years of it, putting most of my time, energy, and resources into my kids and making sure they grow up well cultured, educated, skilled, and exposed to lots of information and experiences so they can go out and be confident and successful in the world. It's a big commitment, and I honestly don't think I'm up to the challenge.
I joke about having goat "kids", but really that's a dream of mine. I would love to have a big ranch, breed dogs and goats, and have lots of other animals. I love animals, but I also have a lot of other interests too. I have this dream that maybe I can find several other people or create a community of like minded people that would share this dream with me, so that we can share the responsibility and also have more free time to explore the world and other pursuits as well.
neither you need time to grow the relationship not take care of pets or kids
Why do you have to have either pets or kids?
Why no option to have none?
Those who love their freedom so much and prioritize other things more, they don't want either of the above.
Lots of kids, no pets.
I love both but I’d pick kids.

I'm too old to have kids and my girlfriend doesn't like cats or dogs, so she'll just need to spend more time keeping me "entertained."
@exitseven NOT what I had in mind!
Out of the two, no kids.
I don't like the idea of having a lot of pets, but I'd take it over having a lot of kids.
Yea Im sure my pets will take care of me when I get old and sick, or help me around the house, or take care of the business, and give me grandchildren. Animal people are crazy.
Amen to that
I would like to have like one or two kids and one or two pets, but, if the choice has to be totally binary, i do prefer pets
Well, if it's a binary choice, lots of kids and no pets
Neither. Too much of everything is just overwhelming.
I am not picking either. I have to have pets and children period point blank.
I'd want a kitten. My ex had a dog. My ex was a dog... Anyway, I don't care. Kittens are cute. I'd give her up when she grows.
Define "a lot" I'd pick kids over pets but I'd be more than happy with 1-3 kids.
Gosh. Asking this question made me feel like I’m choosing between bird shit and dog shit. Young kids are obnoxious and awful to be around, but I hate animals. Unless we are talking snakes and lizards.
Why do you say that?
Lol how does that make me sad though?
Because those things are supposed to make you feel happy. Babies are supposed to give you a rush of this lovely hormonal feeling when you hold them, and cuddling with pets is just…amazing.
I get snakes and lizards tho. I love them too. I love anything I can hold or make little faces at. I love…animals
@DesiUwU pets are not just for cuddling. They require 24/7 supervision, walks, preparing food, vet visits, grooming, cleaning their tons of pee and shit for the initial months. It's even harder to potty train it someone lives in a building. You dedicate your life, they make you follow daily repetitive routine which makes no sense. It's like you're doing 90% of work just to get that 10% cuddles. You must be too lonely that you are willing to do all this just for a cuddle and someone to follow you around. But don't tell everyone to get a pet then insult them for not liking them because you didn't told them the practical aspect.
Most importantly, stop judging people for what they don't want. It's not harming anyone. But what's really damaging is, sugar coating the reality about pets and these days most people end up buying them because of exaggerated claims but later they get so disappointed when reality is different.
@Mustardy_awake dogs are overrated. They're the opposite of what they're portrayed by the society, social media and nutters. Those people who lack love, happiness and are lonely 'think' dogs love them. No, it only wants to survive and has to depend on you, what choice does it have? Anyone who thinks objectively will notice dogs are just for food, entertainment and shelter. I've seen many dogs changing their loyalty towards their 'human parents' within 2 days. I don't choose rose colored glasses when the truth is in front of me.
@Star_88 Thank you for your encouragement. Where I live, many people have dogs and it can be suffocating since I don't want to be around dogs. But I can't say anything because I'll be branded as evil or something people love their pets so much. So I appreciate someone siding with me on this topic for a change. I recently saw a study that suburban places have more pets than urban settings. So I think for my long term sanity I should move to a city and leave the suburbs.
@Mustardy_awake all the best while getting rid of dog nutters. It's just your personal preference and people have no right to judge you. You're not murdering a dog but still haters gonna hate. Not everyone can have dogs. It's like these dog nutters trying to introduce the new social norm of having pets in each family. Many of them even try to mislead you so that you get a pet.
That first picture... i can't even imagine picking up all that shit. Id be spending $$$ on bags lol
NOTA... I prefer some kids and some pets, a nice balance.
So is 2 kids not an option anymore, too much of something is never good
I like the idea of both but still within A reasonable amount
I will never understand people who don't want children. Don't they realize that they won't be young forever?
What? So u want kids because you won't be young forever? I don't want kids because i don't want them to be sad or face any difficulties especially that i had depression and other mental illnesses and ik what it means to suffer. We can never know if our kids will be happy or not so i prefer to not have them. Life isn't easy and it's becoming more complicated everyday. I personally wish i wasn't born so ofc i won't bring someone else to life
Why would you want a lot of either? I would say a couple of either or both is good.
more pets , less expensive , but then again I never had a kid. Maybe I would want 10 kids
Maybe dog not sure kids at the moment. Leaning towards no kids.
I'd rather have a bunch of pets. Kids are annoying.
not necessarily lots of pets but i kinda want a cat or a dog
I will take pets and no kids. Kids are difficult and expensive, and they don't stay cute all that long.
No kids and many pets
crazy cat lady in the making
I’m sure pets would be easier.
Can’t we have the both?
If I was rich I would have had ten kids at least.
Pets over kids any day.
I want human babies to raise
I went both ways
pet and kids
Look at all those kids. They look retarded 🤪
I prefer having some kids and some pets
Well I want at least one kid so 2nd I guess
dogs>kids
Pets obviously.
Neither
An even amount of both sounds nice!
Both is no no.
No pets for me.
